Finally finished moving my MILs household goods  to the auction house for sale next week.     It seems strange to be hauling to the auction instead of hauling stuff home.

My weeds is thigh high…

got the two skid plates back on the Cub deck and couldn’t wait any longer to scare some gophers…

One cut and the blades need repainted…

less than 100 feet and the left front dust cap came off…

with no glob of old grease behind it, it would not stay on…

yard is cut… will have to detail it tomorrow before I ride the hog up to Kannapolis NC to see Collective Soul at a free concert…

Cut the yard Friday evening. Trimmed and blowed Saturday…

So today I jumped on trimming the 2 Holly bushes that I despise… 

Decided to get the rolling stock out and run them around a little.

The 1984 Work Horse GT-1600 got called up to work.

I really trimmed those Holly bushes up good. Now they are out of my hair for good. Picking up all of those prickly leaves was a pain in the fingers.

After hauling the Holly bush limbs to the curb for pick up, I decided to cut some neighbors limbs that were hanging over the fence into my airspace.

The Work Horse and the 10 cubic feet Agri-Fab trailer made fairly easy work of that.

A little C4 or tannerite might have been more fun but it looks good.  😜

 

 

We spent yesterday in the basement after I made a run to the transfer station in the AM.  

Cleaning up all the supplies and such from the Saturday events.  

 

When that was done I moved on to opening the packages I hadn't been able to touch all week and organizing where that all went.  

Got a carb to rebuild for a good man and several others for myself so I decided to bite the bullet and ordered an ultrasonic cleaner.  

Just an afternoon very well spent decluttering the various areas down there.

All I have is a measly window unit, and it barely keeps the Lackey’s Hot Rod, Lawn Mower, Tractor, and Motorcycle Repair and Restoration Shop cool.

BTW @Shynon that’s a “cool” upgrade. That will be the “hottest” ticket in the shop !

Not the weeds only here....

our whole grass grows that height the last 3 rainy months....

 

No chance to mow inbetween.

 

That was my reason for the highgrass mower....

today few parts arrived and i decided to upgrade it a little...

 

Firstly i removed the Discs from the Mower and greasing all the gearboxes.

Than i gram a parted old Sicklebr i have for spareparts - to have is allway’s better than need- 

 

They be about 30years old but in good shape - just a little surface rust.

 

than i drilled the middlesection up to 11mm

 

 

next step was to shorten the Tips a little, because they be too long.

 

 

 

and at least i mounted they into the Discs.

 

 

instead of that thingis...

 

boy, that looks dangerous but also hot.

 

i machined up the Jackshaft pulley to it’s final Bearings fit and changed also both Belts, the one to the Jackshaft

and the other to the Mowerdeck.

 

 

 

at least i adjusted the Belt spanner to its final position and cut the screwhead that it didn‘t collide with the Belt when it goes to hard sideway‘s.

 

Again it was time for a Testdrive - just in idle...

let‘s see how it works...

 

 

Niiiice - after few rpm‘s it stabilizes itself completely and no flattering is there.

pretty Cool.

I put an alternator in a diesel pusher motor home today.  Fun, fun.

 

I learned that one style has enough internal cooling, the old style external fan isn’t required.

 

 

 

 

 

I also came up with a snazzy trick to remove the nut for the pulley swap too!

We had a busy, productive week here.  Finally got the brick masons and roofers on site for my front porch rebuild project.  Before picture - roof structure complete, ready for final roofing & re-application of bricks:

 

 

After brick masons & roofing.  We went with a light gray membrane roof:

 

 

Now all I got left to do is get the brick masons back to build knee walls for the steps, get the concrete guy to pour the steps, wire the porch lights, refinish the front door woodwork, refinish the front windows, caulk the door and windows, build the brick columns and railings, box the beams in, install a ceiling, facia, soffit, gutters, and downspouts.

 

Piece O cake.

We had the electrician here today to connect the two circuits left in the shed and add several more to the barn. 

 

We now have a 220V circuit out on the far side of the building for where the air compressor is going to set.  

Another 220 just inside the main small door. 

The upstairs and downstairs light circuits are complete. 

We also added a 120V circuit to the near side of the building under the shed roof for where the chop saw lives. And a 120 just inside the main door with a couple extra feeds off that so there's 6 plugs within a few feet inside the barn. 

 

That'll be it til we make a decision on climate control for both floors.

Take a resumee after several Day‘s and Months of Fawn saving flights.

 

Today first Mowing tasks ends in our Valley, next mowing tasks begin in 4 Weeks.

24 flights each day at 20:00-21:00 to locate fawns and when there be out.

So no fawns where harmed also this year at our Valley while Mowing.

 

At all we saved 12 fawns since i do my first drone flight for fawn saving.

We all be very proud of that success. 👍

 

2 Valley‘s away they mowed 3 fawns last week at the first Mowing.

Nobody of them ask me to help with the thermal drone, but they know what i do.

I do this all volunteer, including my drones cost and the Thermalcams.

so if they call me, they have absolute no cost.

 

each saved fawn is payment enough for me.❤️
