Excellent find! Wonder if that '79 battery would charge up?

Every WH I owned with one has been fantastic. I had a Charger 9 that ran better than most of my Kohlers.
Should have kept that motor..

Had hit or miss luck with several old Sears Suburbans. My main issue has been getting an idle out of them. The passages in those carbs are hard to clean.
And every Teccy with a bendix starter I have owned makes an awful screeching noise when starting. Seems a lot of other ones do too. Never could figure it out..
Quirky to be sure but good little engines.
About the only engine I cant stand is a later model Wisconsin..

I know some people have adapted a GM HEI ignition module. Not sure of the specifics, but google that and you'll probably find something.

Nice little Raider 10.I've got one floating around here some where that's on my work on it someday list. Previous owner must have been looking for  the " funny car " look when he reversed the rear wheels.Have fun with your new toy.

Welp, gentlemen. She didn't last long..

Got the valve good and free. Hit the starter and first try she lit right off and was purring ....

Then it went CRACK and coasted to a stop.

At first I thought rod, but when cranking it would spit fire and gas vapor from the carb.. so the rod was still in there.
Pulled the plug and turned it over, no movement from the valves. Sounds like the cam gear rounded off for whatever reason..

Had a nice running HH100 I sold just a few months back. Wish I hadn't now.

Ah well, there's a good Kohler on the parts line for a donor engine.

I've already pulled the Teccy off. Would not be against fixing it but I have a fleet of Kohler stuff so it'd just make it that much easier to keep running. I'll probably throw the 'important' parts up on the classifieds if anyone needs a good Teccy SSI or other parts.

She looks pretty sad in the back of the garage.

Well, one way or another, she's alive!
Had this old blue Kohler K301t industrial engine in the shed. I was there when it was removed from a pallet as a new engine, it was stuck on a 1967 Bolens and after about an hour the clutch failed.
Kid left it to rot for a few years till I bought the whole rig for the motor.
Fit right onto the Raider, added a pulley and away we go.
No starter or charging system. Think I may wind up adding a bracket and pulley for a starter generator. But for now it's running on the mag and seems to run great.

I like the canoe. Is that a Mad River Larime ? If so I used to have the same one.

Would have to ask Dad on that one, it's his. I have an old wooden Old Town with a square stern. I'm not allowed to touch that one haha.
All I know is it's made of some special plastic or fiber material. Mad River sounds like the right name if I remember it right.

Assuming it doesn't have a ring gear, could you swap flywheels and add a stator rather than going to a S/G?

Did her first bit of actual work in a few decades today. Still soaking the shroud trying to get the horrible mouse stench out of it. Can't run it too long.. but at a nice sloe lope it had an easy job of dragging 325lbs of dead weight around like nothing was there.

It does look pretty goofy. Sitting in the shed the last few days I noticed a small puddle. Seems the flywheel side rim is rusting out and loaded with calcium chloride.
One of these afternoons it'll likely collapse. Pretty thin after I looked at it closer.
