That’s the 7 hp version but i imagine the 10 will be analogous. He said the Yanmar clones are a complete crapshoot but on average make it about 200 hours before they lock up or grenade. They’ve tested plenty of them apparently. Your mileage -or hours- may vary. Steve Any details on the shortcomings? This one rolls over and has TONS of compression. I didn't ask for anything specific, but the general tone of things is that the clones have random metallurgy and poor quality control. Sometimes a casting in place of a forging. Once in a while you get a great one...once in a while a dud...generally inconsistent quality. Steve

Steve Sounds like you may have been speaking with a Yanmar engineer, ha ha. 1
wh500special 2,256 #29 Posted July 7, 2022 (edited) Maybe. Maybe not. Been working with them and the other small diesel makers on a project at work. Not only do they all know their products extremely well, they know their competitors’ products just as well. Could be any of them. It’s unpublished data, so not an official lifetime rating. So I’m being somewhat cagey. steve Edited July 8, 2022 by wh500special
