I was just about to take a 1/2 mile shake down cruise and I see the fuel pump blasting spurts out I've been reading a lot about this and many other things for my own old truck. Fuel pumps have a fairly high failure rate. I'm seriously considering changing my truck to a Facet brand electric pump and adding the inertia switch that a later model vehicle would use for cutting off the fuel pump after a crash. Owned a couple that weren't registered and rode in a few. Neat throwback. The first one I drove was an early '60s Ford Econoline that started its life as a Bell Telephone service van. Straight 6 between the front seats. Not a hotrod or muscle car but I kinda wish I still had that one. I also had a '48 chevy pickup in my early years and had to double clutch. Glad I learned that skill as well since I occasionally drive a KW T-800 and sometimes need to.
