C160 auto foot pedal?

Recommended Posts

clueless

In the past month I've removed all the sheet metal on the C160 auto to clean everything good and replace a few parts. Now I plan to start putting it back together, may take a month or so, retired no hurry, I was thinking about the foot pedal that I believe Mat sells for the later models. Has anyone put a foot pedal on a C auto?

No sure what tractor looks like, but now would be a good time to buff out the sheet metal or give it a coat of clear coat to preserve it.

Jim, it's a little late for that, when I got this one it was in good shape the original owner keep it up. I decided not to obsess over this one, yea right, just clean it up and replace some of the worn parts and use it like a rented mule. Once I started removing the sheet metal some of it had some rust, seat pan, foot board. seat mount, belt guard, nothing bad just surface stuff. I decided hit those spot with a scotch pad and then a shot of RR paint, well that didn't look to good so I painted the whole piece. My wife reminded me I was starting to obsess again, the hood looked good so I left it alone now it's going to look like a cheap paint job on some of it, but like my wife says that how a rented mule should look :handgestures-thumbupright:

I hear ya Jay.   And I have put my design foot control on a C-120, a 312, a 417, and a 520.   Any tractor with the motion control lever on the right side console.

I don't promote the design because it is a single spring loaded pedal that will go to reverse if you fall asleep on the tractor.   Considered unsafe by OSHA.

Chris @clueless,  If you are interested in details, send me a PM.

I'm a little late but I used a few of Matt's parts and made a couple of my own to make it work on a C-160. You can make the parts with hand tools but a lathe and a Bridgeport are a lot better.  The big advantage C's have is no disassembly  or modification. If you're interested I can send  drawings / instructions

I know I would like to see your setup. My horse bucks like crazy the first couple passes with the tiller on it.  Foot control would make it more manageable.
