JoeM 7,608 #1 Posted September 17, 2019 Seen this plow mount on a CL Ad, never seen one mounted like this, homemade or factory? Your thoughts, pros or cons. 2
AMC RULES 36,943 #2 Posted September 17, 2019 Definitely not factory... and, whatever works for you.
ebinmaine 62,979 #3 Posted September 17, 2019 Seems like it would work fine if built right. Wouldn't work for me because I have oversized front tires. Moving the blade back would decrease the turning/pivot space.
rjg854 10,711 #4 Posted September 17, 2019 Got any pictures of the rest of the plow? May be someone re-engineered the rest of that plow frame to make it work like that.
oldlineman 1,450 #5 Posted September 17, 2019 I would think being mounted to a narrower point would let the plow and frame twist more might be enough to break that mounting point. Would also depend how hard you are working the tractor and what kind of terrian you are on.

Went back and looked at the ad, can't really see any other mods. I was intrigued with this cause it seems like it would be easier to install. A handle of sorts could be fitted to lift it in place and use a pin and keeper in place of the snap rings. I agree there needs to be an additional device on the front to prevent sway. Once that snow blade hits a few stumps/curbs/snow banks/whatever that unsupported piece of 3/4" steel rod through the hitch point would be bent and would have to be cut out. Not a good way to mount a plow.
