Today we're headed about 1.5 hours North to Augusta Maine.

Plan is to make spindles and get some other metal work projects done by/with our friend.

@ebinmaineI need to know Trinas secret to stripping paint. I have the aluminum dash cowling from the 876 slathered in stripper. Seems to have little or no effect at all. Tried 2 different strippers.

Greg we've tried a few. Not been overly impressed by any of them.

We use nearly 100% mechanical means. Mostly cup style wire brush on a body grinder.

Occasionally we break the surface of the paint with coarse sandpaper and then use progressively finer stuff...

On aluminum we use NO chemical at all.

I've tried a couple in the past just leaving them on for 3 to 5 minutes so as not to hurt the aluminum but found the results far less than pleasing.

Greg, have you ever tried electrolysis or e-tank?  It works so well, then rinses off!

water, washing soda (NOT BAKING SODA) and an electric charge.

I think everything is going to the media blaster. I have lawn mower parts to go anyway.

Might try soaking the parts in Simple Green cleaner.  This works for some things.  On baked enamel, maybe not.  Would take at least a week of soaking, probably.

Isn't that chassis/frame a bit big for a Wheel Horse?

I just checked with the Paint Department.

It's been wire brush and acetone to clean for quite a while.
