Pullstart 70,724 #526 Posted Thursday at 05:15 PM This stand has been in this oak tree for 2 years now. The hanger, for 1. The tree is actively eating them for sure! I see the beans right behind me have quite a few tops eaten off, and the mulberry tree in front of me is granting plenty of cover. Pullstart 70,724 #530 Posted Friday at 03:56 PM I received my conibear trap. I feel like it’s pretty small. But it’s a good first set, I think. I chopped a bunch of thorns down and brushed in the majority of the openings, put a piece of sheet metal across the thorns, then brushed it in with some mulberry trimmings. I set the trap by hand and lightly brushed it in as well. I wish it was 3” larger in each direction. But we’ll see if I can even get it to go off! 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I Set it vertically at the opening to the hole. In or out they run into it and boom... I've had 0 luck with horizontal placement... Pullstart 70,724 #540 Posted 2 hours ago I was home alone for most the night, and sat in my ladder stand from 7:30 until after dark. It was very exciting! Around 8:15 a 5 and 6 point, and a doe and fawn strolled through about 200 yards from each other. There was another doe closer to dark that came from my tree stand through the trails, and a monster buck and another deer I never could identify strolled through just behind me. Depending on rain that’s in the forecast, all other conditions are perfect to get the food plot planted! I’m excited for sure! 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
