633? Or whut?

Recommended Posts

Picked this up today. It was advertised as a 633, but I knew going in that some things weren't correct or had been changed along the way.  The price was right for me, so what might it be? Or used to be? Thanks folks.

The engine is a K181 8hp, that would make it an 833 :handgestures-thumbupright:. Also about a month ago you were out buying a wedding ring, I count at least three tractors bought after that. I'm just saying tread lightly my friend :angry-tappingfoot:

My guess would be a 854 with a 61/62 style fuel tank and a 62 steering wheel. Or maybe a 753 with different tank, engine and definitely different belt guard decal.

the serial number tag is on the side????

26108 looks like an 1963 serial number.

You’ll know it’s me when I come through your town

I feel like I drive around in style,

And I drive my wife right wild

Cuz I’ll have the only 633 around

What makes you think it's anything other than a 633? Just because the engine changed?  The 633 came with the goofy updraft carb, which over time became a leaky mess. The original owner/dealer may have just opted to upgrade to a new 8HP engine rather than mess with the old 6HP.

I'd say you have a 633.

I have a 1963 633 with the steal Square pan seat. It is cracked and looking to replace it. I can find loads of the standard round replacement seats but not a square one. Does anybody know where I can find one?

I was wondering if anyone knows if you could use an atv muffler on a wheel horse? Would there be enough back pressure? Too much?

My GF found this for sale while travelling and it is 160 miles from me so I can't go and look at it till saturday. From youtube videos I have watched I think it is a 552. The owner bought it at a fleamarket last year and has been using it as yard art since then. He says it doesn't steer(you turn the steering wheel and the wheels don't move) and the engine doesn't run(he has never tried to start it since he has owned it. From the pictures can you guys tell what it is and what should I be looking for when I go see it(any problems with these models or parts it should have? He is also asking $300 obo so what would you guys offer knowing it needs a total restoration and may be missing parts? I don't know wheelhorse lawnmowers at all but I love the look of them and want to own and restore one.
