prondzy 3,867 #1 Posted July 26, 2019 I picked up this old girl from @WHX24 at the portage show. Shes tired but has a great color. Thanks Jim! The weather has been unbearably hot and wet and life has been busy but tonight i did a little farrier work and put some new shoes on her i think shes shaping up nicely, Future plans will be a heart transplant, new saddle, along with a new hitch and cable, then i think she will be ready to make an appearance in WI at Jims Plow day. So @Coulter Caleb you better have that 854 ready to roll some dirt so we can show all those Big Block Kohlers what a small block can do! And thanks again Jim! 13
dells68 7,494 #2 Posted July 26, 2019 Very nice looking tractor! I’m digging that single/dual plow setup with the rear tires! How in the world did you get @WHX24 to turn loose of that one? We all know what a tight wad he is!

WHX?? 46,775 #11 Posted July 30, 2019 (edited) Kinda a story behind that tractor fellas. I had dad's 1850 Snapper on here awhile back and put it on CL. Way too much of a project for me but a guy saw it and wanted to come have a look see. We got to yakking on the phone and he wanted to trade this Horse he had. I says Ok bring it on over and I'll have a look see. Turns out I nor Dan @Achto who was at my place at the time had no idea what it was but I give the guy 150 off on the price of the Snapper for it. Done deal. Patina to die for and a Tecky that started first pull. What's not to like? I did the usual and changed oil fixed up the choke cable abit, put a kill switch on ... never did get around to the gov issue. .. sorry Mike. Anyhoo it got cold out and wouldn't roll ....yup water in tranny froze. Got it back in the shop and thawed and drained and filled with kerosene. Drained it and got 80/90 back in it but wouldn't hurt to flush it again.. BTW Mike pulled both hubs to change seals and busted one hub brown welded but @Lane Ranger came to the rescue with another three bolt. It had no belt guard when I got it but a suitable replacement was found at the '18 BS with perfect matching patina! Hence the off decal. I got a 604 decal for it Mike at plow day if you want it but guys told me the 502 adds character and keeps jokers & bozos like Craig guessing.. It was a real sorry mess as far as rubber when I got it but Mike did wonders. Wheel barrow front that was bent and wobbly. More character Dan says. I threw a pair of mismatched turfs on the rear it just cause it was peeing cloride all over the shop! Again BTW Mike the the number on the hood was the PO's auction number and the rear hitch was for pulling his hog roaster around. I got three cans of PB Blaster in freeing that up! Pics of what it was. Glad to see it went to a good home where it got more love than I could give it... same with you Denny @dclarke Edited July 30, 2019 by WHX24 6
WHX?? 46,775 #13 Posted July 30, 2019 (edited) You don't want those turfs that were on it Mike I'll take them back as they were supposed to be for a 401. I do have a good ag tire and rim that goes with the tractor if you want to complete the dual for showing. Edited July 30, 2019 by WHX24

I didn't have room on a trailer to get it back home after the show and Mike didn't really either but managed to get it on the dove tail !
