Exhaust stack b80

Recommended Posts

Felix

I’m fancying fitting an exhaust stack. I Love the look of them. At the minute it’s still got the old pepper shaker muffler on.

Has anyone done this recently? I’m thinking of fitting a cherry bomb silencer. (Not sure if these are available in the good ol USofA)

what size is the pipe that comes out of the engine block?

what do you use as a support bracket to stop the stack either spinning and pointing down or vibrating and snapping off?

But there too hard to ship overseas , I wish there was a cheaper way to get them over there , the last quote I got was $105 US just to get it to England :(

I’m a fan of stacks. Never had the type that your looking into tho.

Both my 8hp Kohlers have 1” threaded exhaust outlets. My stacks are small diameter, light and not to tall so I did not add a support.

The block either has a 1” or 3/4” npt pipe thread, most likely.  Putt Putt has a Cherry Bomb, and I welded the silencer core of my Honda Shadow 750 into the outlet and added a tractor flap cap.  I added some support from the engine block to a two piece clamp and welded the top half of the clamp to the pipe nipple.

The one on that commando looks similar to a bud Andrews stack. I have one on my 603.

Some nice looking exhaust there!

I need to try and source some the pipe work and fittings over here.

then I’ll make a start fabricating something. Some nice ideas there

thanks. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
