Lawn ranger rebuild

Recommended Posts

wrmhaste

It's time to start fixing a tractor for my daughter.  I bought this a couple years ago and just now getting back to it. If I'm not mistaken it's a 67 lawn ranger. Tecumseh has come off and it's getting a Kohler and a lot of paint. I will be in the market for parts. Such as a set of front rims and a hood

I started on the motor last night. K181 off from a commando. All torn down due to a broken governor shaft. Aside from the motor getting painted while it's apart all other paint will wait until after the big reveal to my daughter. The goal is to get it mechanically sound for the reveal so she can drive it around some. Then "WE" tear it down and paint it together

She's been interested for quite some time now. She's currently 5 years old. Last spring she was driving my 310-8 from pile to pile helping me with spring yard clean up

This just screams the need for a Kohler.

Managed to get some primer on the motor today. Also a few other motor tins.

Anyone know where to get a reproduction seat and approximate cost? I might make another. Undecided yet

Works great. Sandblasted is on the other side. I roll it outside when in use. Keeps any dust and sand outside so I can paint inside

Minor mishap getting a rear hub off. I broke the lip where the axle seal goes. Have to take the case from a locked up donor tractor.

Frame is red finally. Took about 4 hours of sanding, 3 coats of primer and 3 of paint. Motor is almost back together. All the bearings and seals arrived for the transmission too. So that will be going back together soon
