formariz 11,865 #279 Posted May 8, 2019 It looks like some type of bender. Wire?
Mows4three 825 #280 Posted May 8, 2019 Nope. Not a bender of any sort.

formariz 11,865 #283 Posted May 8, 2019 (edited) Used in prying or applying leverage? Looks like a fencing tool. Edited May 8, 2019 by formariz
Mows4three 825 #284 Posted May 8, 2019 Definitely used to apply leverage but nothing to do with fencing.

Mows4three 825 #288 Posted May 8, 2019 Not a tire tool or bead setter and not an opener.
Mows4three 825 #289 Posted May 8, 2019 Nothing to do with 55 gallon or other sized drums.
formariz 11,865 #290 Posted May 8, 2019 Lets just analyze it a bit. It looks like it will hold on to one part with bent rod, which also looks like it could be driven into what ever material is used, and then one applies leverage with the other part puling them both together. Same principle as some flooring gadgets I know. Is my thinking correct?
Mows4three 825 #291 Posted May 8, 2019 Your thinking is correct as applied to leverage, but nothing to do with flooring. Hint: It is adjustable to give better leverage on the different sized objects it is meant to be used on and the bent rod is key to its operation. formariz 11,865 #292 Posted May 8, 2019 (edited) I only mentioned flooring as an example. If not used in any trade is it farm or agricultural use? Is it intended for wood or other material? You state objects, so not necessarily materials but individual objects? I fully understand how it works just a little stumped by not being used on any trade. Perhaps a profession hint. It pulls two objects together in preparation for next step? looking at bearing surfaces areas material must be metal. Edited May 8, 2019 by formariz

Mows4three 825 #294 Posted May 8, 2019 (edited) Not a trade. Used in a profession. The adjustability allows it to be used on different sizes of the same kind of object. Although rusty, this tool is used in a generally clean environment. The tool is made of steel or iron, but the objects it is used on are not metal or wood. LengerichKA88 1,881 #297 Posted May 8, 2019 (edited) Is it used for upholstery? To pull fabrics tight to be tacked 🤷🏻♂️ Or dentistry? Can’t find an exact match, but it looks similar to a few tools I’ve seen. Edited May 8, 2019 by LengerichKA88
Mows4three 825 #298 Posted May 8, 2019 Approximately 8-9" OAL. Not used to stretch fabrics but if it was put into use, you would potentially suck several inches of seat fabric off of a chair. Used in vintage orthodontics.

Dave I don't suppose you would be so kind as to make a short video of you using that tool on something like a mountain lion or a neighbor you don't like very much? It would assist us in our mission to identify above pictured torture device.
