pfrederi 17,168 #1 Posted April 11, 2019 (edited) Added one from a new series to the fleet today. Fires on carb cleaner but won't stay running. Gas smells old. Took the seller and me and a come-along to get her up onto my Tacoma. So heavy I had to drag it up onto my loading ramp as the Tacoma was squatting. Came with a 48" deck in poor shape and a snow blower that has some ugly welding repairs. Hood and belt guard are here but not mounted. Hood needs a hinge. The seat is in perfect shape except for the Fix Or Repair Daily logo. Another project not sure what she will be used for yet..... The carb. is a PITA to remove and I have had that stuff do wonders. Now you need to find a three point for it! Some black vinyl die too. dells68 7,494 #3 Posted April 11, 2019 Hey @pfrederi, Paul if you’re going to replace that seat, I’ve been looking for one like that for the Ford LGT I’m working on. Let me know if you’d want to sell it if it’s in as good of shape as it looks. By the way nice looking GT14. You’ll love it - wouldn’t trade either of mine for anything!
squonk 38,985 #4 Posted April 11, 2019 Yup that Ford emblem had to go! I had a GT about 12 yrs. ago. Should have kept it.
ztnoo 2,298 #5 Posted April 11, 2019 Paul, Once you get it sorted out, I think you will really like it. They are beasts. Yeah, they are heavy @ 840# dry. An excellent reason to have a tow valve that works. What's the model # so we can ID the year? You might check to see if the bottom of the tank will flow freely with the shut off open. Could be crude down there, and in the old lines too. Pay close attention not to damage the plastic nipple on the bottom of the tank just begging to get cracked or torn off. Aldon worked out an excellent fix for that problem if it gives you fits. Let us know how things go. Plenty of GT 14 guys here to lend advice if needed. As soon as I saw the pictures, I knew someone would want that pristine Ford seat. Those are hard to find in that kind of shape!! 2
WHX?? 46,873 #7 Posted April 12, 2019 (edited) I never even realized it was a Ford seat.. too busy drooling on the tractor! Dan is right Dells and Ford freaks might be offering top dollar for it as it does look to be in good shape for their found on road dead restos! Nice score Paul! dells68 7,494 #8 Posted April 12, 2019 Hey guys. Truth is the truth! Nice looking seat and perfect timing with me doing the resto on Dad’s 73. Can’t blame a fella for noticing that bright Ford blue☺️. At least I’m not a John Deere kind of guy, if you don’t count my 1 little farm tractor - We’ve still got two Ford farm tractors though!
WHX?? 46,873 #9 Posted April 12, 2019 This is true Dells ... got latent tendencies for the old blue my self but let's leave anything green out of this thread shall we?

Aldon 4,826 #13 Posted April 12, 2019 Congrats on the new acquisition. I’m glad the wife put a stop order on me selling mine last year. Should turn some heads at Idaho tractor shows:-) ready to head west soon. Nice and snug:-) 3

Aldon 4,826 #15 Posted April 12, 2019 Thanks Paul. In truth are a couple / possibly more out there done better. And @19richie66 skittles Eaton swap is just awesome. I went to an Indiana show 3-4 years ago and a fella had restored one mint and had all the stuff that was bare metal chromed.

PeacemakerJack 10,671 #18 Posted April 13, 2019 Nice Score Paul! We have had Zach’s Blackbeard for about three years now...I’ve been dragging my feet on getting it going again. It is an awesome machine that is super fun to use and looks cool doing it. Good luck with yours. This is still one of my favorite pics of two modified but really cool GT-14’s and a couple of great forum members that built them! Glad to see/hear that your wife talked some sense into you Aldon! Please be safe on that long voyage west. 2 3 1
