I knew I had too much crap but never in my wildest thoughts did I think we had enough to fill this monster. Especially since we are taking no appliances and my V-Nose is full with tractors and flammables.

Well, that sounds like a male's description, but I'm assuming a lot of the stuff you are referring to your wife probably has much more attachment to than you do, and I'm betting she wouldn't take kindly to her hubby's description of the loaded personal property.

Tread carefully there, Tater Trimble!!!

Idaho is a long way away from upstate New York on foot.

OK, I want to make it clear I wasn't the author of the term ........... I just found it humorous and latched on to it.

I've always been a fan of alliteration and I couldn't help myself because of the possibility I envisioned.

It has a certain ring to it, doesn't it???   :ychain:

Just a quick update.

Wheel Horses now reside in Idaho in quantity!

Albeit in temporary hotel status until my housing sorts itself out.

Good thing the tractors at the back and it’s your first thing off the truck. You should be able to get some seat time as soon as you get there!! Good luck and be safe!

Tater Trimble aka @Aldon,

Glad to know you and yours and your "stuff" made it to Taterland.

I can see the headline in Boise daily paper:  "Dr. A. Trimble imports Wheel Horse garden tractors into Idaho".

Would be interesting to know how that trek went and how long it actually took you to come to your landing zone.....

Any pics of the journey???

Inquiring seniors with possibly too much free time, want to know.

The nib nose Hoosier.

Regards,

Steve

It was a marathon drive for sure.

I did it in about 42 hours including gas stops. I spent serious greenbacks on Petrol.

3.75 days basically.

Once I got to Nebraska I fought storms most of the way to western Wyoming. 40 plus mph winds.

no pics as most of it was two handed driving to keep the rig between the lines with all that wind.

Not to mention it’s my 4th or 5th time making that particular drive.

Not too many good picture opportunities on the route anyway.

So I needed to get the winter salt and stuff off my horse hauler and decided I’d wait until I made the western trek.

The beast cleans up great!

But the lug nuts rusted so bad through 1 NY winter I need to replace them. They look like crap.

I can't fathom what you spent in fuel hauling a fully loaded trailer in that trek!

:jaw::jaw::jaw::scared-yipes:

How many miles was that, btw???

Get a set of the high polished nickel alloy Gorilla brand nuts - won't ever be a problem again.

They cover a significant amount but not all costs.

It is basically a mutual investment.

I would guess the companies out of pocket is 50-60k.

I will probably be impacted about 10% of that.

@Aldon,

Well congrats on the contract to sell.

But I'm sure you know it isn't a done deal until everyone signs the required documents and you have a check in hand.

I've heard stories locally of deals completely blowing up at closing over some of the smallest details imaginable.

So, wishing you a trouble free transfer.

So does the hoped for next Tater Dome have more tractor storage and work area than your previous digs?

Are you living in a motel for the time being or a short term rental?

Just read an interesting article on the fastest growing cities in the US in the last 8 years.

I believe you told me you have resided in Boise before.

With that kind of phenomenal growth, the place must almost unrecognizable to what it was previously.

#14. Boise City, Idaho
• 2010-2018 pop. growth: +18.2% (112,557)
• 2018 unemployment: 3.3%
• 2010-2018 employment change: +22.1% (+55,335)
• Median household income: $54,120

Boise City is the only metro area in Idaho and one of only four in the Western United States to rank on this list. Boise City is now home to 112,557 more people compared to eight years ago, an 18.2% population growth. Boise's job market has also surged over the same period, with employment climbing 22.1% since 2010 and a metro area annual unemployment rate of 3.3%. Nationwide, employment grew by 12.5% in the last eight years and 3.9% of the labor force is unemployed.

Well I’m settled in here in Idaho.

i have to live vicariously through others to get Big Show updates this year.

Here is the new Horse habitat.

So I had to put the horse to work cutting grass that was over a foot high and thick! But there is a reason I love this C160 with 48 inch deck. It made it easy peasy.
