Tractor boy 239 #1 Posted April 2, 2019 I am hopefully going to look at this. The ad said $350. So I guess i am just asking for a estimate if its worth that much. Pretty sure it is a 1054 but not sure on the year. @gwest_ca I cant seem to find the book for it? Perhaps you could find one? - Thanks, Tractorboy
953 nut 60,403 #2 Posted April 2, 2019 It is a 1966 model 1056 and well worth the price if it runs and drives well.
Achto 29,433 #3 Posted April 2, 2019 (edited) ID tag says T 1056 that would make it a 1966, 10hp, 3 speed. Looks like there may be cast iron wheel weights on the back. Those would be worth $100 + by them selves. The dump cart appears to be home made but would be useful. Edited April 2, 2019 by Achto
Tractor boy 239 #4 Posted April 2, 2019 Thanks for the quick response @953 nutand @Achto. @Achto Would you mind showing me how you broke all of that out of that serial? The ad saids that it runs and drives like a top. Also says it throws snow like a beast. Anything special i need to look for when i look at it? (Besides the usual fluids and such.) I know that it is a long shot shot but if it is a member selling it please PM me!
Sparky-(Admin) 23,325 #5 Posted April 2, 2019 Just now, Tractor boy said: Would you mind showing me how you broke all of that out of that serial? All that info came from the model number and not the serial number. If you zoom in it says T-1056. “T” is for tractor, 10 = the horse power, 5 = manual tranny(3 speed in this case) and 6 = the year or manufacture (1966). I’ve seen that ad on Craigslist and the pic he provides of the drive belt guard also says 1056. 2
Achto 29,433 #6 Posted April 2, 2019 (edited) "Quick draw @Sparky" beat me to the explanation. The last year that the model numbering system works that way is 1967. One other thing to look at on the tractor is where the transmission bolts to the frame. This mounting plate is prone to cracking. A cracked mounting plate would not be a deal breaker for me but it is some thing that I would address as soon as possible. Tractor boy 239 #7 Posted April 2, 2019 Just noticed that it is missing the plate that covers the shifter. How hard is that piece to come by?

I don't think that there is a plate missing, the top of the center counsel should be mostly open, just a short cover near the dash. It should look similar to my Raider, minus the flat bar seat hold down, second shifter & hour meter.

LengerichKA88 1,883 #14 Posted April 2, 2019 I would gladly pay 350 for that set up, but I’d start the offer at 275 and work from there. Im a little on the poor side though, so I like to save a penny when I can haha. If you don’t need/want the extras you can rebound some of your cash that way too(makes it easier to shell out the cash when you know some of it’s coming back to you haha)

Fool proof escape: Let the air out of one of your tires. Take a picture of it and send it to your boss saying you’ve got a flat and can’t make it in (no spare/don’t know how to change it/ dealers choice for reasoning). Then air the tire back up and go get it 😂😂

Not saying money is worthless.

Tractor boy 239 #18 Posted April 5, 2019 Well I got her. Paid $320 for her. Runs, drives and serves your guests tea. I know the battery cable ends are gojnh to need replacing and the “original wheelhorse” oil needs to be drained. But besides that it fires off like a champ. It does have a slot hitch with it but I think the lift cable is broken because it terminates right underneath the transmission. Probably will end up sourcing that out somewhere. Any clue if toro still makes them? (Pictures of the hitch coming as soon as I unload it tonight) It definitely needs a tad bit of tlc. As stated before it as the orginal oil in it. Definitely needs ti be washed. The belt guard was rubbing against the belt so the guy put a spacer in. Any concerns as to why that wont work or be bad for the tractor? Finally I am thinking about a refresh on it. Not sure yet........ 3
