Hi I was wondering if all this grease needs to go, I am thinking you are supposed to just grease the spindle through the access hole.

Welcome to Red Square.  I answered in your other post.  Glad to see you posted your question in a separate post.    Clean up the grease to find the grease fitting.    That cover is not meant to be full of grease.

Well with that much grease visible it had to be very well lubed 

 

Like Steve said, clean up all the old grease and find the fitting, pump some fresh grease in,  put the cover back on, and you're good to go.

Finding too much grease on an old machine is a much better problem than not finding any....
