The Tuul Crib 7,338 #1 Posted March 1, 2019 Been looking at some ag tires for my Rebuild and was tossing around getting 23x10.50 12s I have this thing about tires being too wide for the rims. It's the hanging over the rim thing. My thinking is you lose the real effect of the tire when it's not the correct size for the rim .i know that deestone tires tend to be a bit smaller than others. Are there other brands that very in size differences other than deestone and some that are larger? Tell me how your 10.50s do as far as grip and balance! WVHillbilly520H 10,376 #2 Posted March 1, 2019 @The Tool Crib, I like my OTR Lawn Trac R1s, on my 520s with 8.5" wheels, excellent traction wet dry cold or warm...i had Nanco AGs as well on the same wheels they run small like the Deestones traction not as good in winter snow vs the OTRs...1st pic 23x8.50 Duro and 23x10.50 Nanco...2cd OTRs...23x10.50 OTRs and 23x10.50 Nanco...hope this puts at least these 3 brands in perspective.
The Tuul Crib 7,338 #3 Posted March 1, 2019 Yea I've seen the nancos but didn't know much about em . I did find some 9.50 s in deestone but still debating the 10.50s
Pullstart 64,856 #4 Posted March 1, 2019 Deestone 10.5’s are more like 8.5’s in reality. These 23-10.5’s are on 6 or 6.5” wheels, whatever is on a C-101. If they were loaded, they’d surely have better grip in the muddy field and deep snow. Otherwise they work great! My loaded 8.5’s are out on loan and have a ton more grip. I think that’s due to the weight, not as much the size. 5
The Tuul Crib 7,338 #5 Posted March 1, 2019 That's also a great t look! I live on a hillside and need a good grip. I found a great deal on fleabay for a set of 10.50s for around 140

Sarge 3,464 #8 Posted March 1, 2019 Other than the Firestone 23* ag tires, the only real true sized tires I've found are the Carlisle Tru Power. They run true to size and seem to wear very well for a long time. I've tried quite a few brands and haven't been impressed with them other than the OTR's - those are a real close second to the Carlisle. Sarge
WHX?? 50,862 #9 Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) Tru Powers in 23-10.5 Crib... almost strait sidewall. Generic R-4s in 23-8.5 if you like the industrial look. Very heavy 6 ply. 'bout the same $$ as 10.5 Tru Powers. Edited March 1, 2019 by WHX22 2

WHX?? 50,862 #15 Posted March 6, 2019 Looks to be the dees... 23-8.50?? 10.5s have the bigger bulge on the sidewall. They are a good tire for the money. I wouldn't be afraid to try them out.

The Tuul Crib 7,338 #19 Posted March 12, 2019 (edited) OK so here’s another brainstorm that I have. I have a pair of deestone 8.50 Ag tires I want to put on my 6“ x 12 rims for my 855 .Has anyone else ever done this? Would they be too wide for the 6 inch rims ? WVHillbilly520H 10,376 #20 Posted March 12, 2019 I think you would be just fine here the 6-12 on my dad's OCC and a pair of 8.50s side by side...
The Tuul Crib 7,338 #21 Posted March 12, 2019 I’m just worried about these being too wide for the narrow rims but at the same time thinking that the deestones do run a bit narrower than actual said size.

I can't tell you wheel width sizes for certain but I would guess 7" wrapped by the 8.50s and 5" the 6-12s.

Pullstart 64,856 #24 Posted March 13, 2019 So feel free to call me crazy guys, but I’ve always been a fan of mud trucks with oversized tires and big sidewalls. I think next time I build a tractor, it’s getting Deestone 26x12-12’s on 6” wide wheels. The way I see it, when I’m in the muddy field, there will be grip on the bottom and sides of the contact patch... plus I’m hoping it’ll look decent. Along with the looks, it’ll give more room to load the, too! Currently a set of 26x12’s are about $160 shipped.
