@rjg854 I just used some steel wool and then a good wipe down and then a little cleaner / polish to give them a good shine.

Finished the belt guard, hood and headlights today. I didn't take before pics of the hood, cause I already sanded a spot. But that can be seen in first pics posted. But here are some pics for everyone. I'm liking the way it came out. Next I got to pull engine and do some welding on the frame were the previous owner drilled holes to mount engine And got to weld a cracked off tab on the hoodstand.

Nice job on those pieces Chris.

I scanned back only enough to see that that is a 12-horse Kohler but I don't know if you mentioned it already. Any idea why the PO drilled the frame? Not a Wheelhorse block or something? Just curious.

Well when they switched the old 10hp out for the 12. They must have not realized there was mounting holes on the bottom of the oil pan. But the 12hp did come from another horse. So they drilled 4 holes on a angle so they could use the 4 mounting tabs on the oil pan. They put the bolts in from the bottom of frame and then bent them straight so the engine would sit on them. Crazy idea to me, but I'll get it squared away.

Did some more wet sanding and tearing down today. Also finished up the dash plate. I painted it the same antique white I am using on other parts. Topped it off with a decal kit from the vinylguy!

Chris I don't think you're going to like that one. Why don't you send it out to me and I'll use it on something.
