Sorry for the late response... working night shift and remodeling the kitchen/living room for the wife.

Yes, it is the same Cub wheel as posted above.  The Cub hub is 11/16" 40-spline on the top half.  But the bottom-half of the hub is a plain 3/4" diameter.  I am going to have a local machine shop drill out the splines to a 3/4" diameter and also drill a roll pin hole.

Tomorrow I will be doing the tank straps with some 3M Panel Adhesive.

@Horse Play What 3M panel adhesive did you use?  I went to the auto supply and they had several 3M adhesive products.

Too late, I already glued them in at 8:00am this morning; so we shall see...

I worked at a Ford dealership body shop and this stuff was amazing.  We replaced a damaged bed side on a F-150; a few months later the same bed side was hit again and had to replace the bed side and that adhesive was some powerful stuff.

last time I talked to my body shop friends - they were using adhesives almost exclusively to install panels on cars - including door skins and rear quarters

adhesives - instead of panel spot and / or braze

new cars ... vintage / muscle cars ... etc

customer cars - and their own cars

adhesives have been used extensively in the aerospace and aviation industry for years

Sorry, I do not remember what exact type  - all I remember it was a 3M panel adhesive.  My buddy let me use a tube from his body shop one day.  It was the commercial, two-part stuff that needs a mixer tip.

It appears the machine shop did a goo job on drilling the Cub steering wheel.  It cost me a total of $45; $20 for the drill bit and $25 for the drilling.  I then did had to do a little sanding and scuffing, then resprayed the spokes and hub due to a few nicks at the machine shop.DSC_0133.JPG.d5e50eba2d51534743694a8ce82468a9.JPG

Only a few more small bits left to do.  I still need to track down a belt guard and heat shield.
