@LandoCommando214I unprofessionly redid one a few years ago. Best thing I did to it was removing the shaker mounts for solid mounts. Wondering if you did the same. Before and after of mine. You did a great job.

Did you have to bring out the middle of the piston? I'm thinking of doing the same after seeing this!

@D_MacLooks awesome! I considered it, but kept them on for now. Were you having problems with the rubber ones?

Yes. Vibrated so much it did damage to the air filter housing. Tore the metal away from where the back plate screws into the carb. After putting the new mounts in it was a new machine.

Yes Sir . I ground out the inside with a de-burring tool.

Makes quick work of the aluminum, easy peasy!

I’m running into that also. Where did you get your solid mounts? I saw Zack Kerber has them.

Yep best thing you will ever do to a shaker plate motor Tony. Well worth what Kerber asks for them.

Seems to me I remember seeing someone on here had a home shop made set.

That's exactly who I ordered them from. Worth every penny. I wonder why they ever made the rubber mounts to begin with.

I'm sure it seemed like a good idea to some Kohler engineer(s) at the time.

To stop some of the vibration, and it most likely worked good for most about 20 years. They are 40 years old now time to fix them.

When I restored my C-121 I replaced the engine mounts with the correct rubber ones and I must say they are nice. However I remember them being very expensive and I don’t think anyone was making solid mounts at the time. I probably would go with the solid mounts next time (if there is a next time!) I’m not even sure if the rubber mounts are still available?

@c-series don  THAT restoration looks incredible. Did you do a clear coat over the paint also? I just sprayed with a reducer and 2k hardener, and i'm not sure if I can polish it like you could with clear applied.

They could not have been that good because they didn't make them long.

Yes, three coats of two part epoxy primer sanded between each coat, three coats of PPG red (I have the color code somewhere) and three coats of clear.
