Hopefully plenty. Unfortunately I found it has a thrown rod and Cummins discontinued so I'll probably start a rebuild thread when I see how bad the damage is internally and find a good set of rods.

Sorry to hear that.  I hope you didn't pay too much and weren't lied to by the seller. 

 

I believe @fast88puhad a P220 for sale awhile back.  Maybe he still has it.  If not there's always Predator and Vanguard swap options. 

I wonder if Zach Kerber would make rods for that engine if asked?  Anyone know?

Wheelhorse parts n more has em. 

Your local parts store will be able to get them as well. 

 

I buy in bulk and keep a few in stock. 

 

You'll want to replace all 4 transmission seals and the shifter boot. 

The brake band should really be replaced but I've cleaned them with brake cleaner. 

 

Your biggest issue will be removing the hubs. 

DO NOT use a 3 jaw puller on them. 

There's a few great pics of proper hub puller setups on this site. 

 

Show up at Zagray CT next month with that transmission and I'll pull the hubs and change the seals for your boy.

Annual Easter cruise with some of my nieces & nephews. This year I used my new to me 633 that I got in trade from @Chrishar. Believe it or not, this was actually the very first time that I have driven this tractor. Very happy with the tractor so far. Sure is set up with one heck of a road gear.

Put the dozer blade on the '73 for the first time today. Buried the blade and spun both rear tires to confirm that the LS gear box is working as it should  I'll put some weights on it this week and put it to work soon. Definitely need some chains if anyone has recommendations on where to get a set.

Consider fluid filled tires as well. 

In many cases, the more weight the better. 

 

If you're doing dirt work or plowing a soft driveway that plow may want to be tilted forward. Keeps it from digging down in to the aggregate quite so much. For snow movement it also makes the white stuff roll off to the sides nicely. We find deeper snows are easier to move.  It can't fill backwards up over the top. 

 

We keep ours that way all year.

hi ineedanother,

   moving dirt is very tough on the 'F" plate.  you might want to reinforce that area before moving dirt.   don't ask me how i know.

Mike raises a very good point.  

 

Keep an eye on the place where the frame attaches to the transmission.  

There are good drawings somewhere around the site for making pieces of angle iron as reinforcements.

Right. I picked up a c-160 last year that had been broken and poorly repaired so it's definitely something I'll be watching. I really don't have the means to manufacture bracing the way it should be done but I did tilt the blade one notch as @ebinmaine recommended and it doesn't dig in nearly as much.

Even a 2" angle iron piece 6.25" long with  appropriate drilled holes helps a lot.

daveoman has an idea that if i remember correctly is 2 short pieces of angle iron with holes drilled in special places.  just a bolt in kind of idea. no welding.  looks veeery stout!

I take it a step further and drill a hole in the side of the frame to add even more stoutosity.

I'm going to work on that stoutosity thing. I did till and push some dirt this evening under close supervision of the terrorist...small flagstone delivery scheduled for Friday

Wanted to get the walk behind blower out of the garage for the summer..  haven't used it in 3 years now.  Had to move several horses and other summer equipment to get it in the barn.

I needed to do some soil checks to see how dry the field has become.  This plow was set up for cruising behind a 953, but Putt Putt didn’t mind either!

 

It was dry enough to pull the camper out!  I have to drive about 1/8 mile or so to the field entrance to easily pull it to the road, then the driveway.
