Matthew Miller 7 #26354 Posted yesterday at 01:29 PM Last week I replaced both rear axle seals and the brake shaft seal on my 1986 312-8. Next I am going to try to fix my worn out Carter carburetor. the housing where the throttle shaft goes into the carburetor is worn out. I am going to look at making a bushing in the machine shop to repair it as long as it is only the top that is worn out. To my surprise the 520 actually started with some make shift gas line but the 314-8 which reads to be an 02 model is in tough shape with everything seized and locked up sadly it only has 200 hours on it with a like new 42” deck. 7 5 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

As a side note. .... to remove the shaft, be VERY CAREFUL about the screws holding the blade. Many of them are staked in place and break off. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
