You can clean the cooling fins easier and the dirt between the seat mount and gas tank causes rust.
peter lena 9,988 #26155 Posted May 30 @lynnmor interesting opportunity , did it years ago ,cleaned out my tanks , replaced all fuel lines , cleaned out fuel bowls , filter at tank start and just before carb , started adding STA BIL FUEL STORAGE , an ounce or two , to every related tank top off , guess what ? not a speck of crud in any related fuel area , instant starts , no carb issues . a clean tank is the FOUNDATION of fuel start , I also use regular leaded gas , the emphasis of this experiment , was the clean fresh start , also have clean fuel rated hose up to carbs ? I can see the clear fuel going to carb , perfect REPEDITIVE PROBLEM , TO TRY ELIMATATION ON . also have it on my stand by gen , STA BIL in that tank , related hose , clean and clear , instant starts . think the IRONY of this , is the solid reliability , thats easy to set up . this led me to try ,similar failure areas , like pto lever , set up , you are looking right at it . pete

This was one of the crudest tractors I’ve ever seen. After I was finished with the pressure washer I ended up throwing my shirt and shorts away. They were beyond cleaning. 5

TonyToro 1,189 #26158 Posted May 31 Well it’s not really what I did today or yesterday but for the past 3 weeks….. is @TonyToro Jr. and I built this little puller! Originally a B60 now has a Predator 212 completely built engine running 7400RPM. I can’t say the horsepower because racing secrets ..lol Thank you @grnlark for the front axle worked perfectly! I might paint the front weight bar and need to make a mid weight bar. If anyone is looking for the absolute best pulling hitch for a WheelHorse check out D&D welding fabrication. 4

ebinmaine 79,957 #26160 Posted May 31 Got some good seat time in today. Started with the garden area prep. Double ripper spikes to use. Before, right at start. After: Couldn't get as deep as I want because of wet slippery ground. No worries. After that I hauled four full 17 cu ft loads of Mackissic chipper shredder mulch from the front yard down beside the barn and to the garden. All hand shoveled. Quite a workout. Feels good to move. Here's the BBT and her momma moving cow 🐄 poop 💩 in and getting it all stirred in. The mulch is about half layed out and some plants are in. This is a teeny tiny red potato Trina found while prepping the dirt. 8
Chris689 308 #26161 Posted May 31 While not 100% wheel horse related my 10-8 was definitely utilized though. Bought my first antique tractor yesterday. Flying solo unloading it today I had to get creative. Started pulling it out with a chain and a wheel chock to move it in increments, that got sketchy quick. I then had the bright idea to hitch the tractors together with a hitch pin. That made life much easier. Had to resort back to the chain to pull it into the barn. 10-8 put in some good work today. 5

These little tractors are great for doing stuff like that on your own. Back in December when I was moving my lift into place I had to push the posts up the ramp into the new garage. I don't lack the strength, but didn't quite have the traction to push them uphill by myself. 855 with a plow and chains on moved them right up the slope.

Achto 32,187 #26165 Posted June 1 (edited) Spent some time on the B-100 this weekend. Parts came in for the tranny so I was able to reassemble that. I discovered that the idle pulley for the drive belt was locked up so that got replaced. The plastic handle for the parking brake was missing so I spun some new ones out of aluminum on the lathe. Back together and ready for duty. Edited June 1 by Achto 3

T.R Hawthorne 20 #26168 Posted June 1 I finally after all these years got a 520h. Wheelhorses have been a family thing way back when. From generation to generation. In the 4th Gen and my sons are the 5th gen wheelhorse loyal fanatics. We farm them like a farm tractor. A shout out to sight admins for a fantastic forum! The E-start was one of the selling points for me especially with the engine being rebuilt so it’s pretty tight getting it to turn over with the crank. 2

Crank starting those little buggers can easily turn into a broken arm. I got my Dad a 39 B with the hand crank. I replaced the center section with an electric start style and put a 6 V starter with a 12V battery with no charging system. Added a start button and solenoid. You just had to look at that button and it fired up. Charged the battery in the spring and it would last all year. Had a blast mowing with it. 3
