What have you done to your Wheel Horse today?

@peter lena thank you for posting that link. So I think I’m actually going to go this route with the C120 as well. I saw in the post that you mentioned Marvel and Kroil. I have a ton of Marvel in my cabinet. Would that be something good to start with then on a more frequent and light basis move over to Kroil?

Nice set up. Can you please show a pic of the other side? Like to see belt routing. Thank you.

Belt routing note how it goes around the PTO Hoop.

also note you have to cut away some of the deck reinforcement plate to clear the belt.

@Chris689  you could try that  , marvel mystery  is good also cheap , compared  to  kroil , but kroil is in a totally different class of  frozen / rusted penetration , basic , how easily does the penetrant work , creep ?  start to darken  color base ?  thats what you want , its the sign that its working , go very slowly on that stage , let it transition  itself , then very slowly  , attempt  clean out / off .  personally hand work on that till its much cleaner / clear , then a 6" electric palm buffer , car cleaner wax , go easy on it , done a lot of that  . if it  comes out , its very deep ,  worth the experiment  , pete

Got the 48 all hooked up

Paul, how much of the deck sticks out beyond the support frame on the discharge side.    I use my 48 to mow as best as I can under the fence lines.    The front mount would be much easier to swing the deck under the wire after passing a post.  I have a wire guide that lifts the wire over the deck.    I may have to look for a front mount or make a narrow one for fence mowing.

I do get under a fence but the lower wire is 12-14" above ground.  The rods that carry the back wheels are the highest thing and are pretty close to the edge of the cut... but if you cut from both sides it may make it.

I don't think there is any more resistance and a normal deck setup

@peter lena awesome thank you for all the insight I really appreciate it. Once the 10-8 is back up I’m gonna turn my focus to the paint on the 120. Thank you again.

@pfrederi Paul, Thank you!  I found the center mule for mine today because of your picture.  The pulley was robbed off it so it didn't stand out. I've never seen it assembled, but should soon...

The V pulley on the spring loaded arm is supposed to be taken from your front tachmatic mule drive

Took hydro foot control off and replaced with steering column controls on the 520H. So much nicer I can actually relax now cruising up and down the happy hills of home. The more I operate this mochine the more I like it.3EB55A43-30BB-42C2-AF21-EDD294C3ABF7.jpeg.896e09745387ff288765444ccb129be8.jpeg

Those foot controllers are sought after, so you can probably find a new home for it easily.

Yes! @sqrlgtr , I have been very tempted to adapt that to a Sunstrand and would be interested if you would like to part with it!

@Easton Rich has already traded me out of it. I may regret it but I really like the control I have with the steering column control on these hills around here :D. I did notice today while taking it apart, there was a spring missing (I think) that pulled cam control back into a v shaped piece and returned foot control back to neutral. I might have liked it better if I had tried a spring on there, the way it was it would return to neutral on its on in the flats but I would have to use my heel going down steeper grades to get it to hold back and it just didn't work out well that way. After I got everything adjusted today on the steering column control it works perfect, no creep forwar/backward and foot brake works like it should returning cam control back to neutral when you mash it.:handgestures-thumbupright:, and this thing will fly by far fastest Wheel Horse I've ever had.

NIce! I hope that works for you. I need to make a decision about my FEL, auto has to have a foot control or I move the loader onto a 8-speed without the L/S differential and electric clutch. I don't seem to have enough hands and arms to not have a foot control for direction. Kind of hate to do that since my 165 is the tilling machine but we'll see.

Yeah I can see foot control being a big benefit with FEL and maybe dozer blade.

Yep, side effect of having acceleration valves--the hydro doesn’t “lock up” until there is sufficient pressure. That’s close to walking speed in a “free wheeling in neutral” hydro motor . It took me a while to get used to going down hills at a good clip to stay locked up.

Don, it doesn't do that now that I got everything put back original. After putting everything back original it will stay at whatever speed I set it to going downhill.

Ordered axle seals for the 312-8 the other day and needed to check the outer bearings just to know what I'm up against. Pulled the rear weights and wheels, bearings are good. Flipped the tow receiver to get more ground clearance there and decided to go ahead and replace the fuel line while I had it up on jack stands. All is good. I'll replace the left seal when it gets here and this one will be back in service. Great machine, one of my favorites!

Kroil

I personally belive Kroil is the best penetrating lube on the market. It's expensive, but worth every penny.
