Usually more in fall than other times it seems. But I also spray with the same setup with weed killer a little later.
MainelyWheelhorse 2,345 #25502 Posted Wednesday at 12:43 AM Today, in this preview of spring/summer which was an uncommonly warm 70 degree day. I got the 308, 312 and C-141 out, wiped the dust off, and went for a short spin on the C-141. I also did some cleaning out, raking crushed rock out of the lawn, and organizing tractor parts. Now to wait for another week and a half roughly until spring is official. Tomorrow, it’s supposed to be rain and 30 degrees cooler. 3
BrianKoch 355 #25503 Posted Friday at 12:31 PM (edited) Gentlemen, Today I begin the process to repair my 42" side discharge mower deck for my '68 Charger 12 and could use some help from you all. The issue at hand is I cannot seem to keep the belt from slipping off the center pulley and I do not understand why. A few years back, I modified my Charger to run the deck from a mule drive and have ran the setup without a problem since. However, last season I needed to remove the center spindle assembly and chase the threads on it to better hold the blade retaining nut. Ever since that minor surgery, something is off and the belt slips every time. Based on my photo, does anyone see anything off with the geometry or anything else...(pic is of belt slipped off pulley for the umpteenth time). I'd like to try fixing before searching for another deck, but that's not off the table for me either if anyone has one. Thank you, Brian Edited Friday at 12:54 PM by BrianKoch

Ed Kennell 45,050 #25505 Posted Friday at 05:59 PM Is the belt tensioner working properly? The near bolt seems to be at the end of the slot. Could that broken spot in the upper pulley be catching the belt and throwing it off? I've used broken pulleys but always rounded off any sharp edges so the bels don't catch.
Lee1977 7,577 #25506 Posted Friday at 06:56 PM That rusty slide might be keeping the belt tightner from working proper., That type of deck should have plastic bushing on the bolts holding the slide.

Thank you, Brian I would start by removing the belt and sliding the tensioner by hand to see if it slides smoothly and that the spring is applying even pressure. Then I would sight across the deck to make sure the idler pulley is on the same plan as the spindle pullies. If that all checks out and all of it turns freely, I would want to leave the guards off and watch it run to see if I could tell what the cause is.
Lane Ranger 11,838 #25508 Posted Friday at 07:57 PM (edited) I think your problem is in the metal slide that rides back snd forth! I have had this problem before! The oblong holes in the metal slide bar become wallowed out! You need a new or better used bar. I bought mine new from Toro as i had a good deck i wanted to preserve. That was about 8 years ago and i am still using that 48 inch deck with no belt issues! Replace the nylon busing also if they are worn! The lower hole in your photo shows a knotch that is a worn spot ! Edited Friday at 07:59 PM by Lane Ranger

Thegearhead0324 1,365 #25512 Posted 6 hours ago Today I moved clutter around in my shed to get the 1257 out and put air in the tires and put a battery in, primed the fuel pump and fired right up. I also aired up the dump cart, and I recently acquired the original dump cart my tractor came with from my dad so I aired that up too. I’m running out of room but it’s ok.
Chris689 123 #25513 Posted 4 hours ago Started assembling the few pieces I have acquired for the slot hitch assembly on the 73 no name to hook up the 8 inch Brinly. Hitch pin was seized in the trans. Took 3 hours to get that out.
kpinnc 17,310 #25514 Posted 4 hours ago (edited) Fixed my weight bracket and put the suitcase weights back on the Bronco 14. At least they are a bit straighter than before. Edited 4 hours ago by kpinnc 1
c-series don 11,511 #25515 Posted 4 hours ago @kpinnc Every time I see that, I think how awesome that looks! 👍🏻 Where did you get those weights? They seem to be perfectly scaled to the tractor in weight, size and shape. 2
Bill D 2,626 #25516 Posted 3 hours ago Started my two 416H's and moved them out of the shed so I could put my snowblower away. Had to clean up the mess from an Eaton burp. 4
ineedanother 1,912 #25517 Posted 3 hours ago Did some spring greasing and swapped some wheels and tires around to free up a set for a new project Found a cracked shifter boot on the c165 and replaced it with a new one I had on the shelf. It stays under cover but glad I got around to doing some routine maintenance and caught it. 3
