Only one tiny drip that I think may be coming from the input shaft. But the transaxle case is looking good. And it moves, so there's still some hope! One thing that has me puzzled is this parking brake lever. I may need to take the belt guard off of my C-120 and have a look at it. It's no wonder the parking pawl on all these early hydros are destroyed. Check the bottom of the pin that rubs on the parking pawl lever. I have had some that had a groove worn in them. PeacemakerJack 10,812 #25002 Posted 17 hours ago although it was a small space, I got to plow up a little plot of sod for my cousin to plant a garden next spring. I realized in short order that GhostRider and the Punisher were like bringing a “bazooka to a knife fight”😅. I should’ve dug out Caleb’s Comanche (854) and the 8” sod bottom plow…maybe next time🤔 Still had fun turning earth though… hauled it down in my little enclosed trailer—first time using that, it worked well. 2

Thanks for the clear picture for reference! Yes, there is a wear groove that I can address - but I need to lift the tractor and make a closer examination. My brake lever only appears to reach horizontal at its highest point. Perhaps I didn't have the pawl fully engaged with the gear. My other thought is that the replacement pawl came from a D series - but on initial inspection, the geometry looks the same. The D-pawI is fatter, but it looked to all be on the top side not the gear side. I'll compare the two side by side on the same shaft and do a closer inspection. I guess it wouldn't take much to equal a few degrees. Edited 17 hours ago by Bar Nuthin

Turns out, when you align the holes for the roll pin, the D series pawl (bottom) is deeper at the gear side. It ends up being a little over an inch of travel difference at the end of the brake lever. I'm not splitting this case again, so I'll try my hand at modifying an old brake lever to compensate for the difference. I had brake lever that was badly worn, so I used it as a guinea pig and drilled an offset hole to change the angle. I put it as close to the old hole as I felt comfortable with. turns out that was too much adjustment. For now, I just ground down the face and it's working properly. I still don't know if this tractor salvageable or will become a part donor. If it turns out to be a driver, I'll fabricate a proper brake lever.
BenvonCamp 9 #25006 Posted 1 hour ago Winter! New tensioner cog and drive shaft bearing on the blower. Waxed up the shoot and the blades. Decided to fill the rear tires with RV antifreeze and distilled water. 5:2 gallons respectively (7 gallons is capacity). Much easier than anticipated. Takes a bit of time to get it all in there but these wheels really bite now. 1
