Please keep in mind maximum blade tip speed is 19,000 feet per second, or 216 MPH. The longer the blade the larger the blade pulley diameter.  Engine speed and PTO deck pulley diameter also enter the equation.  For instance the rated high idle for the the M14 Kohler on my 314-8 is 3450 RPM although the engine will happily run all day at 3600 RPM. I think the engine RPM rating keeps the engine in the best torque range.  I run a 48 inch deck with no problems.

Walk behind blade tip speed is set by engine rpm if the blade is directly mounted to the engine crankshaft.

That's pretty close.

This past Monday though. October 6th. State of Maine. I saw 88° in the afternoon. That should definitely be illegal.

Oh absolutely.  We've already seen it dip down into the upper 30s several times this year.

Swapped a new to me Big Show seat to the 856. Also adjusted brake on same tractor. 1st pic after swap, 2nd pic before seat swap, and 3rd pic notice price and date on nos seat. I payed a penny more than that at big show from @Handy Don if I remember correctly.

@rjg854 Seen your handle and just remembered you brought me a seat to the Big Show also. Now I just have to remember what I done with it. Even though it wasn't as good as the first seat I had gotten from you :ychain:. It was even the correct style for the 856. It has to be around here somewhere.....

Over the last few days in between work I’ve got my spare M12 buttoned up to possibly be run on the C-85. I also finally added a missing bowl gasket to the K341, once I brought them back from my parents house.

I started to take off the shaker engine mounts. I’m going to set up the C-85 engine mount wise like the other three.

And once I confirmed I had all the right and parking brake parts. After work I replaced the stretched parking brake spring and added a helper spring. I also lubed up the idler and rear end drive pulley.

Decided this C-141 needed some taillights. Upgraded the headlights while I was at it. Still contemplating how I want to setup auxiliary power for some beacon lights, with winter coming.

This $300 tractor has turned out to be a really solid unit!

I had to double check the fluids since there were no oil spots on my garage floor - I thought maybe everything had run dry! :ROTF:

My question is what's happening to the old art of Brazing?

Flux core welding can do most of what brazing used to handle steel on steel. No gas. Cheap equipment.

Replaced the shifter boot this morning. Annoying but necessary job.

@Roger R

I always liked brazing, but yes the Mig is simpler equipment wise.

Those are just bright LED bulbs off of the jungle site. They look bright but they really don't cast very far. (search 1156 LED)

Better to add tractor lights if you need them for vision. I found a vintage pair in a box of crap I picked up in a barn sale, then replaced the bulbs with LED. They light up some ground!

Got these 4 lined up for a trip to the scrap guy. A buddy of mine is down on his luck and hauls stuff to scrap yards for a few buck to make end meet. So I figured I’ve picked off everything I’ll ever use off these and he could use whatever $$ they bring him.

That trailer too?

Seems a shame to trash those steering wheels if they're good and the metal guys don't get anything for them.

Cut the 3/4 rod as low as possible

1” axle 8 speed that’s been full of water for years. Like probably 10 years.
