The A-60 has one heck of a fast road gear, put it in 5th and hang on. 3

It will go as low as the single digit speeds. 5
8ntruck 7,777 #24107 Posted July 14 (edited) Clyde, the C-195 got tapped for lawn sweeper duty today - mostly because the sweeper is stored behind Clyde in the tractor shed and really easy to hitch to Clyde. Got 30, maybe 40 minutes of seat time on the job. Got the chipper shredder out to grind up what Clyde and I collected. I don't remember using the chipper last season, so it has been sitting idle for at least a year. Splashed some fresh gas in it, and it started after 4 or 5 pulls. Got about 1/2 way through the job when the B&S 5hp on the chipper quits like it was shut off. It didn't fire with a squit of carb cleaner, so i'm guessing that it has lost spark. Too late in the day, too hot, tired, and sweaty, I took this as a sign that it was quitting time. Edited July 14 by 8ntruck

I'd recommend it if possible.

No points. I found a source saying that B&S went to electronic around 1982. With any luck, this will be something simple like a shorted mag ground wire. While browsing the Pertronix site, I found a unit for the 8n front mount distributor. Might be a worthwhile conversion for EJ, the 8n.

MainelyWheelhorse 1,461 #24115 Posted Thursday at 03:58 AM (edited) My contribution for today is I’ve been working on the C-141 over the last few days. I painted the upper dash and shift plate. The shift plate got modified more to be able to engage the parking brake. I touched up the red on the engine and painted the air cleaner. I also started to figure out handles for the brake and throttle. I also worked a bit more on my emblem for my hat project. The next thing is I’ve got to extend out the exhaust at least an 1 1/2 or more as it hits the hood. Then put the hood back on and wire the headlights. Overall painting will be sometime after that. I plan on getting a legit one soon. @SylvanLakeWH Whatever works, I think I have one of those kicking around here somewhere. 😄 1

ebinmaine 72,422 #24121 Posted Friday at 08:48 AM Sparky the tractor was called up to Active Duty yesterday. The BBT has decided that it should be assigned Mid Mount Grader Blade tasks. We had a short rain storm roll through and caused a ditch. They filled it in. 5

Andy N. 2,361 #24123 Posted Friday at 11:49 PM Found out that the LH captured nut on the '89 312-8 had a fuel seep so changed it out with tank that I found on eBay. I'll see if the old one can be repaired, but needed it up and running since it's my main mower this year. Then onto the 418-8. Tilled up the garlic patch that I harvested last night and then took it in the shop for an oil change, hood hinge replacement, and chassis lube. Had to easy out the axle zerk. Apparently it got sheared off at some point since the last lube. 3
MainelyWheelhorse 1,461 #24124 Posted Saturday at 12:35 AM Today I was working away at the C-141 before going to a Celebration of Life for a family friend. Today’s accomplishment was putting the hood on and tweaking the throttle lever. Tomorrow, I’m going to attempt to put some inserts for bolts in the drive belt cover and figure out the exhaust as it hits the hood, then figure out how to mount the new throttle and choke handles. Lots of little things now.
