MainelyWheelhorse 1,137 #23626 Posted 23 hours ago @953 nut there was no wiring in the C141 except for the wires to the headlights. There was no engine either. I figured I could use the 312 harness and take out what I didn’t need. I’m not too worried about the safety switches as the my 312’s seat switch is bypassed and my 308 is missing some switches or they are bypassed and I’ve had no issues. I’d like to get it running and moving then maybe put some in.

When I did mine, I turned that rod end on the smart steer 90 degrees, drilled a hole in the frame side and snugged it up.

Some of the switches on 312s had three wires with one going to the idiot lights on the dashboard. If this is the case cut them out before you begin the installation and it will be much easier to understand.

Waiting for "The Rest of the Story" Well, since my truck was stuck axle deep, I pulled one ramp out from the tractor, then managed to pull the rear of the tractor off the remaining ramp. We then pulled the truck out of the yard, and waited for the yard to dry out to get the tractor recovered from the impromptu mud hole.
nylyon-(Admin) 7,619 #23632 Posted 20 hours ago ¾” bearings came in the mail yesterday so this morning I replaced the spindle bearings on the 36” RD deck. Pretty easy to do when that’s the only thing you’re changing. I had an idler pulley which I was going to use, but it was too big, so I will fine a new one just so it’s all replaced at the same time. It is much quieter now! 4

MainelyWheelhorse 1,137 #23634 Posted 19 hours ago @953 nut or anyone else who knows what size is the hydro drive pulley for the C141 Automatic? TIA, I figured I’d keep the momentum going as I’m so close to getting it going.

PWL216 984 #23637 Posted 15 hours ago My 314-8 has had problems starting which I diagnosed to be the fuel pump. Installed a new OEM Kohler fuel pump, same issue. I then installed an electric fp and it starts right up. I made a cover plate for where the old fp mounted. So far, no issues, although I will be upgrading the fp to a better one than the cheap one I have on there now. Did a quick oil change while I was at it. 1

8ntruck 7,495 #23642 Posted 10 hours ago While reading through the string on 520-8's, I had an interesting (Dangerous? Dumb?) thought - we've got a lever steer registry. Would there be any value of building a registry for 520-8's and another for C-195's? Both of these are low volume models. Comments? 2
MainelyWheelhorse 1,137 #23643 Posted 10 hours ago (edited) In the vein of gaining knowledge by mistakes have you ever loaded a tractor on a trailer not attached to a truck…..I did and I rode it a across a low spot in the driveway for about 8 feet …. No damage to me or the tractor but thats not ever happening again. 😬 Edited 10 hours ago by MainelyWheelhorse

We borrowed a Tecuchi track loader from the farm he worked at for the weekend to do some digging for a retaining wall project. My brother was the equipment operator, so he was driving it the most. When it came time to load, he inched his way onto the trailer, and it lifted my truck’s rear axle off the ground. They started zooming towards the street. It was not a state highway, but for all intents and purposes might just ad we’ll be. He froze. I screamed at him to drive forward, and fast! Tongue weight matters.

Tongue weight matters. @Pullstart Definitely, I was loading my 312 for JCM’s get together last year on a landscaping trailer. I didn’t think the weight of the tractor would affect the trailer that much. my father had to use his truck. Yeah, I was wrong, I got to about the end of the gate onto the deck. Then, the tongue picked up and off I went. Edited 10 hours ago by MainelyWheelhorse
