2" receiver hitch

I needed a hitch for my 3/15. I've seen some real nice ones here so I decide to build my own. The angle iron is scrap bed frame, tough stuff and plenty strong. The side pieces are 2"x2"X1/8" square stock, bought an 8' at my local steel supplier cheaper than I thought. I own a wellsaw horizontal band saw (saved from scrap yard) made the job quick and easy. The receiver tube was a 12" cut in half. Came from harbor freight. Welded, primed, 2 coats of toro red and 1 clear coat. Supports 180lbs of cast iron no problem

Here's why I made it, for now at least.

git the suitcase weights from work. We had a tractor years ago (before my time there) that used them. Been sitting in a corner collecting dust. Painted them the right color now I have 264lbs of counter weight.

I cut the drop off a rust hitch I had and welded a 12"x2"X1/4" bar on. I can fit 4 weights on for almost 180lbs

More snow tonight and Sunday. The machines make it fun, but a cab would be nice on the 3/15!

its the welder, not me! We bought a new 110 miller mig at work, it does a great job, just finished re enforcing the frame on my c30 with it

Nice job on fabricating your tractor rear weight/hitch receiver setup. Love the Dubay's Tractor Center sticker on the back of your rear fender seat pan. Have you been there? It is off the beatin' path in CT. Still operates as a tractor center (Mahindra tractors). Was a WH/Toro dealership back in the day!

I swapped my 3/14 for the3/15. Dale is a good guy and a Wheelhorse fanatic. Has a nice boneyard there too

I plan on it. The 3/12 will be push/pull machine. I picked up a nice Wheelhorse moldboard plow and cultivator in the fall. Both slot hitch. I have some work lined up for it and front weight will be helpful

Looks good should be strong enough for your application.    Fyi. Don't use bed frame on something that is going to have  lots of weight or stress pulling on it.   Bed frame steel has lots of carbon in it and welds tend to break......   I learned  the hard way.......
