JoeM 7,644 #1 Posted December 2, 2016 Looking at those pics by A-Z made me think of a place I visited a few years back. I bought some parts on E-Bay. Me and "Best Neighbor Fred" trailered up and rode on out to pick up the parts. When we got the destination we could not believe our eyes. This guys entire yard was covered with tractors, all types, including WH. WOW. Man I told Fred maybe we can pick up something extra. Lots of nice stuff. The dude said he was going though a divorce and might sell something's. I had cash and was ready. It may have save a bunch of time to ask what but ended up nothing could be bought. Guess he wasn't as ready as I thought. Just a story, I left my number and never did hear from him. I did snap a pic, there was lots more not shown.
Don1977 604 #2 Posted December 2, 2016 It may be that he though she wouldn't leave if he started selling tractors.
AMC RULES 36,945 #4 Posted December 2, 2016 Once they're all sorted out, and arranged just right... why would anyone ever want to sell?
rmaynard 14,907 #5 Posted December 2, 2016 Sounds like an episode of American Pickers I saw a while back. They go root through all this guys stuff, and he won't sell anything. I think they ended up with an old motorcycle headlight for all their trouble.
ACman 7,510 #6 Posted December 2, 2016 My eyes kind of tear up. when I look at horses stacked on A-Z's trailer . I know some need to be sacrificed to save others , but all I see there is savable tractors . At least they're not getting scrapped . I'll take that backrest off that 701 and a nice patina hood for my 1075 so I can hang the original on the wall . @953 nut I tried ten years ago to buy a 51 Ford shoebox that been sitting in a field forever with a tree growing through the engine compartment . Guess where it's still at . This would make for an interesting thread " Forgotten Old Iron " ...I know of plenty of places I could go and get lots of of tractors and vehicles just sitting because the owners won't sell . I could start at our own farm . My uncles won't sell anything ... but grandma on the other hand ?

Wishin4a416 2,189 #8 Posted December 2, 2016 I have a contact that his place looks like that. At least a 100 tractors the first time I was there. He has downsized a lot since then.
JoeM 7,644 #9 Posted December 2, 2016 Yep, sickle bar, and there was at least one other! Wouldn't even shoot me an unreasonable price. Is that panel truck considered a "wood-e" ?
squonk 38,942 #10 Posted December 2, 2016 That old Motor home surrounded by tractors is a dead givaway that nothing moves there!

Good one; I guess it is now. 8 hours ago, ACman said: interesting thread " Forgotten Old Iron " A years ago a friend had a calendar full of pictures of tractors and implements being held captive by trees, I went to buy one and it was sold out! That was before the internet so had no way of getting one. 8 hours ago, ACman said: eyes kind of tear up. when I look at horses stacked on A-Z's trailer A-Z sells complete tractors too, let him know what you are looking for. 8 hours ago, ACman said: some need to be sacrificed to save others Think of them as organ donors!

Back in my submarine days if we needed to get to sea we would often cannibalize parts off an incoming boat to accomplish our mission!
