Erby 15 #1 Posted November 18, 2016 Following on from previous topic {engine cuts out} I have now removed the cylinder head and observed this series of events starting at TDC on the intake stroke the piston goes down but the inlet valve dosn,t open until the piston is almost at Bdc and then stays open for 3/4 of the compression stroke if this isn,t correct what has gone wrong ? the exhaust stroke appears to be normal I will try to add a video of this tomorrow. Erby 15 #3 Posted November 19, 2016 Hi 953 NUT thanks for your reply I had to question myself on this possibility before posting this question ,I am turning the engine anticlockwise when looking from the drive belt side of the engine I also observed the engine rotation when operating the starter motor.

Erby 15 #5 Posted November 26, 2016 I have now removed the engine and the engine sump. I can now see the problem ,the camshaft has broken just behind the inlet valve lobe . the angle of the brake was just enough to turn the camshaft , but not keep the valve timing correct. I now need to source some replacement parts the engine no of my tractor is 30452D and I am told is a C series. can anyone help?
953 nut 59,559 #6 Posted November 26, 2016 Don't know what the shipping cost to France would be, but members @A-Z Tractor, @daveoman1966 or @Kelly could provide a camshaft if you can't find a local supplier.
