Just finished a 30 year chassis/deck/ renewal. Now I can't get her to start. No spark, power at both coil terminals inner terminal flashes when turned over. Any help appreciated.

Did you clean points and check the gap?  What do you mean by inner terminal flashes.  Does the spark plug fed by that terminal spark???

Do you mean the (-) terminal on the coil ?   If that's a "yes" then the points are working.   How about a picture of what you've got.

Yes the point side of the coil is where I get the flash on cranking. Points appear to be opening and closing but as you said they appear ok.

If you lay a new spark plug on the head will it spark?  If not it could be a defective plug wire or defective coil.

no spark at all on either wire so I'm thinking coil. Local Toro dealer quoted me $337.Can$ today. hopefully I can get a two terminal coil for a lot less.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for that info, if I can't find a reasonably priced one I am going to try two coils wired together..

If you do.... wire them in parallel ....  but your current thru the points will increase from 2 amps to 4 amps.   Might be hard on the points.  Let us know how it works.

I had an Onan P220 that needed a coil.   I used a Chev Cavalier 2.2L coil.  It was $17.  I had to make wires to fit it.
