JC 1965 1,528 #2 Posted January 31, 2016 My dad died from a heart attack when I was 4 years old. Left my mom with 6 kids to raise. I was the youngest. I remember my mom got a social security check for $ 18.00 each month. Not much but it sure did help out. Don't know how we made it but we all worked hard and stuck together and somehow made it through some hard times. I find my wife and I relying on social security for much of our income once again. I don't think the future is very bright for social security though.
