Front Cast Iron Weight

Does anyone have any info on this style of front weight ? Original WH ?

Thanks !!! I have one of these weights that was my fathers, I did not now much about it other than he used it on one of his early rj's.  I thought it was just something he adapted until I found that picture of a rj on craigslist with one mounted on it.

Nice tractor! Haven't done a thing! As the picture shows that's the original front weight on the rj's at which point they went to the front mounted weight with the handle which a think came out in 59 to 60, then they came out with No handle, They also used those on the 69' GT14's for weight on the front end when tiling. I have one of these on my fifty six that I have just haven't got around to getting a pattern made. II believe Hammerhead has a new one, yup, he was the top bidder on that one. If only I was paying attention on that he outbid me I think I stopped  202.50   thought I was top bidder until I looked, about two years back.  I've also found my fuel tank!

Hi Don,

How is your front weight attached?   I bought one of those weights at the WH show two years ago, and I'm trying for figure a secure way of attaching it.   Are there just two hooks that go over the front axle?   I cut a large U-bolt in half, and hooked mine over the front axle. It's on that way for now, but I think the weight might bounce off if I hit a bump.

Kind of doubtful. That front weight weighs in at about the same as the front weight with Wheel Horse carved in it. They both weigh in at about 54lbs. Yes it hangs on by 2 hooks, hangers or what ever you want to call them. The picture that you guys keep showing is My tractor!! 56 ride away jr.
