kingnothing71us 108 #1 Posted November 6, 2015 I thought I'd try something today and to my surprise, it worked! I bought a pair of 15 LED bulbs from Autozone. I took the reflector out of the light (where the bulbs go) and lined it with chrome vinyl. plugged the bulbs in and, voila, LOTS of light. I don't know if anyone has done this but if you need alot more light, you should give it a try. The bulbs I bought are Sylvania 1156 Cool White. Just thought I'd share.

Sparky-(Admin) 22,439 #6 Posted November 6, 2015 I have had great luck with these. I see that on the package it says " For off road use only".....and these not legal for cars/trucks?Mike........

Although, usually its just because the MFR didnt want to spend the money on DOT certification knowing that the consumer will buy them anyway. Just is a way to cover their tails... kingnothing71us 108 #8 Posted November 6, 2015 squonk, thats how my lights look. I think they're awesome. And yes Mike, I agree with bmsgaffer. Even the salesman at Autozone pointed that out to me because I said I was putting them in an older lawn tractor. He said, "They should work, says right here "for off road use only"." Ha-Ha. Hey squonk, what did you use for the reflector? It looks like made to fit plastic mirror. I would've posted pics but it was dark when I did the work.
squonk 43,013 #9 Posted November 6, 2015 (edited) They installed reflective metal panels in all the lights in one of our bldgs. They left behind a panel so I scarfed it. I cut a couple of pieces bent them to fit and siliconed them in. Edited November 6, 2015 by squonk
