midpack 814 #1 Posted September 3, 2015 OK, so I picked up a plow for my C-175 off CL, guy wanted $60 for it . (the guy said "hey you want that old snowblower attachment too?") tch... duh, free? c'mon!anyway, I decided to attach the plow and push some dirt around just for fun . That's when I found out that steering, controlling the height of the blade, and speed of the tractor (forward/reverse) was a challenge to say the least...Of course with the Sundstrand hydro, the available pedal mod is zilch. I thought about looking for a different Horse, but I like this one.so being a machinist, I made this...I took it for a test ride last night and it works great! As it stands, I was using both pedals to control the speed, the brake pedal moves the lever back toward the neutral position to slow the tractor down in either direction. I was looking at using springs for return to neutral, but it was pretty easy to just use the pedals.I think the rear PTO belt should clear too.Total out of pocket cost ~$42.00 for the pedal and Heim links. The rest, well I work in a shop, lolThe only thing I regret is cutting original sheet metal... . there are a few of those belt guards available, so I could grab one just in case
Moparfanforever 740 #2 Posted September 3, 2015 Nice craftsmanship !! What is the pedal assembly from ???
midpack 814 #3 Posted September 3, 2015 looks like it's from a 269-H. I got it off ebay. I was just looking for something that I could use and it looked right. I did have to bore the ID to fit on my tractors pedal mount.
oldredrider 2,548 #4 Posted September 3, 2015 Had a C-141 auto with a loader on it come through here a couple of years ago. It had a similar setup on it. It made operating that tractor and loader so much easier. Not Red neck at all! "Necessity is the Mother of Invention".
Don1977 604 #5 Posted September 3, 2015 Nothing wrong with that. Weld the bracket to the arm right before the 90 degree bend up it would be perfect.
bean 85 #6 Posted September 3, 2015 can't call that redneck, there's no bailing wirebeautiful work!
PaulC 341 #7 Posted September 3, 2015 I like this a lot! Especially that pedal. I would think you could add springs to it for the neutral return pretty easily. Although for mowing I do like using the handle and the fact that it will hold position for the longer straight runs.I have one of Matts foot pedal kits on one of my tractors so I know how great it is to have the foot pedal control for snowblowing and plowing. His kits got to pricy for me and now theyre not even available so I may have to try something like this. Good work
pacer 3,160 #8 Posted September 3, 2015 Not bad, not bad at all!!I added a pedal on one of my 175's a while back somewhat different from yours but same principle. I'm thinking your mounting the linkage higher up on the shifter handle may make for smoother action - mine is a bit 'stiffer' than I would have liked.http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/51889-another-foot-pedal-mod-c-175-eaton-1100/
546cowboy 301 #9 Posted September 3, 2015 I had a Charger 12 that someone did something like that to. I never liked it but that one was not as nice a job as yours. Buy the way I believe you have an Eaton in that and not a Sundstrand.
bmsgaffer 2,043 #10 Posted September 3, 2015 The black hoods could have had either (in 1980 anyway).None of the pictures show enough detail to say either way...

pacer 3,160 #12 Posted September 3, 2015 The black hoods could have had either (in 1980 anyway). Yes, I have 2 175's and one is an Eaton and the other Sundstrand. The shifter stick is same on both.

squonk 39,363 #14 Posted September 3, 2015 I know what you mean about trying to run a hydro, steer ,and control the blade. I took an extra hydro lever and modded it to a hyd lift lever. This way I can keep my left hand on the wheel and move the blower or blade and down with my fingers.
