Air Compressor oil?

Recommended Posts

mowerman1193

Probably a subject not many think about.. I need to change the oil in my compressor pump.. recommended oil is a non detergent oil 30W.. finding a non detergent oil is getting hard to do these days.. I wonder if just a standard motor oil would work okay.. what do you all run in your compressors?

My dad uses HD30wt oil in his air compressor just the same as we use in are horses. I don't know if its right I've also watched him put put diesel oil in his brand Yamaha motorcycle he's kinda crazy when it comes to things like that Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk

Just saw ND 30 at a nearby Advanced Auto Parts. It was in their mower/lawn equipment section.

Napa has it. If the compressor is out in the cold during the winter and you plan on using it search for synthetic compressor oil. That's what I've been using for the last 10+ yrs. Makes a huge difference. Amsoil sells it.
