motor12 367 #1 Posted April 9, 2015 Has anyone got one or know anything about the mini lathes from HF. I have room for one and could have used one a million times. I like my wheel horse projects and also have some old hit & miss engines and a small lathe sure would be nice. If there is something out there in the same price range as the HF lathe, what is it. MalMac 1,328 #2 Posted April 10, 2015 As one who has been around a lot of Lathes, I can tell a lathe is only as good as it's accuracy. You get what you pay for. Now with that said, if you are not trying to make jet engine main rotor shafts and just trying to true something up you will probably be ok. What I have found out is some not all, of your cheaper lathes have very poor casting used in their bases and they are hard to level and keep accurate.
