I was looking at Menards webite for battery and saw this plow.

Nordic Riding Mower snowplow is made of lightweight high impact injected molded ABS Plastic. Our 3 position blade with its patented rounded edge gives you the unique ability to plow over grass, paver brick as well as the everyday driveway. Our side mounting brackets will fit many mowers as is and can be modified to most others easily enough. The plow is light enough to be raised and lowered with our hand strap provided. Simple and easy to use is our goal and our unique blade will allow you to tackle summer jobs as well.

Round blade edge?  Hand strap lift?

I think if you put the weight/power of a wheel horse behind that thing it wouldnt make it to the end of my (short) driveway... :dunno:

I wonder how long the rear end will last pushing a plow with that toy lawnmower!

Yeah, pretty sure a Wheel Horse would kill that thing. Did you see the strap mounted car/truck/suv version they have? http://www.menards.com/main/p-2384723.htm I'm betting the first time you hit a raised bit of pavement or a curb stone with that, you're going to bust the "plow" and punch a hole in your car.  :snooty:

It looks like it gets strapped to the HOOD! You could do some incredible damage to a car that way... Many cars have aluminum hoods (like the buick they show there) costs nearly $1000!

I would not be strapping a plow to my $1000 aluminum hood...

They didn't show any videos of those snow plows pushing snow. Using the words of Jase Robertson, "There must be a reason".

I bought a 5xi package yesterday including some attachments I'm not going to need:
4' plow, model # 79355 - in great condition, very minor surface rust on crossmember and back side of blade. $250 48" mower deck with blower and bagger - in good condition, working when removed from tractor yesterday. Previous owner said it never clogged on him. Some surface rust on deck and one 2" hole near the center. $300.
I'm open to offers and interested in trades! I'm looking for a 2-stage snow thrower, p/n 79366. Maybe tools, etc.

Available for pickup--let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Here's a photo of the deck that's included. It's got some rust holes, but functions perfectly. Most of the price here is wrapped up in the blower & bagger:

SOLD SOLD 520xi with air cooled 20hp Kohler - tractor in great shape and solid. Everything works. Engine was removed a few years ago and cleaned of grass buildup. New head gaskets and PTO seal a few years ago. Engine showed a decent amount of wear but runs strong and fires right up. Didn’t like the wear and needed a zero turn for my property. Would not hesitate to mow with it right now. 1200 hours. Have original paperwork. New air filter, fuel filter, fresh oil & filter. It’s been mowing 3+ acres for 20 years.

52” side discharge deck complete. Currently mounted on the 520xi- solid, welded/patched cracks and holes. Front roller broken and patched, newer belt. Was just removed and cleaned. Welded chips in blades, but never finished sharpening. Solid deck, decent life left.

48” wheel horse complete plow for 520xi 79355. Was used for snow. In great shape.

48” wheel horse plow incomplete for 300 series garden tractor. Was used for parts. Not sure what it is missing but what’s there is very solid.

MUST TAKE ALL. WILL NOT SEPERATE. Won’t answer if you ask. $750 CASH for everything. Only thing I’d consider selling separate is the 48” incomplete plow for 300 series. Will not deliver.

Will the plow I am using on my C121 and C160 work on a 876?
or is the plow frame different?
      Thanks

Just wanted to show a modification I did to my 1990 310-8. I recently picked up a 36” tiller for my horse and I tried it out on my new garden area. After hitting a rock, it knocked one of the axle brackets open dropping the right side of the tiller. On a manual I viewed, it had clevis pins to hold the lever in, but my bracket did not have them. I drilled a 1/4” hole through on each lever and mounted a 1/4” clevis pin and hairpin cotter to reinforce the lever. I read on another post to just tighten the bolts on the levers, but I think this will work a little better. Hope this helps someone!
