Will This Front Blade Fit My C-160?

Recommended Posts

benjiboo

I'm gonna pick up a front blade system on Wednesday and want to make sure it will fit my C-160. The blade is a model #: 6 9622 8 / Serial #: 758975. It comes with everything to mount it up to the rear axle including a set of rear tire chains. I already have the quick attachment mounts on the axle of mine for the tiller. Are the mounts different? The main question is...will it work/fit?  Here is a pic of it. Thanks, ya'll are the best! - Ben

Pic is kinda small but it looks like a long frame plow frame so ...yes...it will fit your C-160. the rear axle bracket for your tiller is the same as for that plow.

Sweet!!! What would you estimate the value of this to be. In other words, what kind of offer should I make on it? He's asking $175 but said it's negotiable. Is it worth the asking price as long as it's not all roached out and bent all up?

Try to negotiate a little...part of the fun for both sides......I think 150 is a good solid price.....

Ok folks, so I went and got the blade today. I wound up giving $150 for it. All I got is what is in the picture. Apparenlty the picture he had on Craigslist was a pic he swiped from somewhere else on the net, which is kind of somewhat shady but....at least the one he had was in as good of shape or maybe even better. Everything is tight and the cutting edge still looks new except alittle rust. I really don't think it has been used all that much. Anyway...on to the picture. Lol.

Nice looking blade. You will need the rear hitch to mount it and if you don't have it, a short link to the lift and you're in business.

Mine has already got the rear axle implement mounts bolted on for my tiller. I assume the part that raises a deck up and down under the tractor is what hooks up to the blade arms. There is a short link on the blade arms in the center that is right around the area where it would all hook up so I suppose thats what your talking about?

My plow has a solid link on it so it won't float like a mower deck. Most of the plows either had a chain so it would float or a solid link that doesn't float. On mine the mower lift rod was too short to reach the blade so I got the solid link.

you will need the silver link to hook up to the chain or threaded rod.

there was a long solid link option that would replace your chain, like stated above that allowed you to apply down pressure. other folks will chime in on OEM or homemade solid link.

I used a piece of 3/16" x 1" flat stock to make one for my C-105's plow. Without measuring it, I think it was about 4 1/2" long, or that was the hole spacing. I can measure it later if you want. It is a lot cheaper than buying the part.

Can you measure the rail length and width for me.  I have a 312-8 and Wheel Hose products are hard to find and was thinking of adapting an ATV Plow.

Thank you!

Sure can. Do you want the length from the blade pivot back or the blade and all?

The measurement "from the blade pivot back" and if the blade swivels how much does the blade stick out from the front of the tires with steering straight ahead.  Many thanks!

The measurements I got are as follows:  From the blade pivot to the rear cross bar that mounts in the quick attachment is 64", the inside width at the widest point (rear where it mounts) is 11 1/2", with the blade turned either direction there was approx. 3" clearance from the front tires pointed straight forward. Hope that helps.

Well Folks, I actually got the blade mounted up today and got to try it out. I had some dirt that was bermed up pretty good from the kids riding their 4-wheels in the side yard and wanted to level it all back out. All I can say is WOW! The dirt has been bermed up for a while so it was packed down pretty good though not as much as virgin soil. I leveled it all back out and the tractor never once wimpered or stuggled. I was pushing in 1st.-High range. If anyone is curious about getting a blade for their's and can find one I say go for it, you won't regret it a bit. :music-rockout:

benjiboo, thanks for the measurements.  Still looking for a plow.  I got a reply from someone with a Toro plow with all the hardware for an  Attach a matic system, maybe I am in luck.  Thanks for all the info.

Does anyone know where I could find a complete engine rebuild kit from for the k-19 ? I absolutely love my c-195 and have had it for years. But the motor let go last fall and I want to rebuild it or upgrade the motor, any suggestions?

Hello all. I am looking for suggestions on adapting the pto from my C series tractor to a harbor freight predator 420 13hp engine. I know the predator motors are a controversial topic however it is the route I have chosen for this particular machine. The intent was to mostly use it for plowing so no PTO required but it would be handy to have. Looking to hear from someone that has successfully done the swap that may offer any advice before I attempt to transfer it over. Just looking for any general pointers that will help me along the way to make it go as smoothly as possible.

1979 c-101 nice project tractor just needs a few odds and ends, steering wheel, coil, carburetor bowl, the wiring was redone by previous owner....all 4 tires are good and hold air it goes into all gears no problem, transmission fluid has been changed, 10hp Kohler, message me or call or txt with any questions, it does run and runs well,  it’s been kept inside since I’ve had it, I would also trade for a mid mount grader blade thanks
