Garage Update

Recommended Posts

kj4kicks

After finishing the shed project (and during when I needed a break), the garage addition made some progress. Getting ready to pour concrete. Since one truck can't haul enough to do it in one pour, I split it into 2 halves.

That last two shots shows how big this garage is going to be. It appears the horses are already checking out their new digs. :banghead:

Eldon

Looking good,

I did flatwork for a few years and just a little advice. It'll be better if you put your form for the 2nd pour cross ways and your pins bout every3 ft. The reason for this is there will be less pressure against your form and easier to pull for the 2nd. ( less to mess with)

I cant really see any along the out side either they should be every 3ft and at least 2ft in the ground with a brace extending out to another stake.

When pouring crete it is better to overkill. We lost a few because we thought it would be OK, man was the boss :USA:.

Are you goin to put visquin down? It sure stops the floor from sweatin :banghead:

Good Luck !

p.s. If I'm outa place here sorry

Yeah T-Mo, they were doing a little grazing!

D, Where the window is now, there will be a door. And the vert is Joels :banghead:

Steven, Thanks for the info. The forms aren't quite finished yet. I still need to add the bracing, but it was getting dark. 10-4 on the vapor barrier !

Walls are 2x6x10'high. Trusses are ready made.

I got the permit in hand yesterday, so now it's "Full Speed Ahead" !!

Hey Eldon You won't need to cut the center for control, but you might throw in a couple cuts coming across. 4" slab cut it an 1" deep, 1/4 in per depth, 1 1/4 for 5"

1 1/2 for 6" usually no bigger than 10 x 10, might go 12 x 12 and still be ok. Looks nice. Burly :banghead:
