I ran into this band on YouTube as part of a "Somebody to Love" kick recently, one of the more creative covers I've heard, very nicely done.  I don't know where they came from, or what ever happened to them.  I see 4 videos on their channel, all from this same recording session, and nothing on FB since 2016.  Here's another one of their tunes, I'm guessing an original?  Goosebumps.

I tried to listen to this album at home today while my wife and daughter were gone, just me washing dishes and crankin' the stereo a bit, but my CD player wouldn't cooperate.  So here we are at 1:00 in the morning, headphones on, this works just fine. :music-guitarred:

Here's my Spotify Summertime playlist.  Mostly summertime-related songs, or songs I associate with summer.

Arlo Guthrie made this song famous but here's the guy that wrote it.

Second video is Arlo Guthrie explaining the time he heard it and his version. Classy giving the credit where credit is due.

Don't believe I'd ever heard this tune before tonight, but now I've heard it twice and counting.  It's a great song, read the description on YouTube for more information.  I'd love to see these guys play live, but apparently I'll have to travel to western Canada.  Road trip!

My wife and I met Arlo on Cape Cod where he was playing.

We were staying in a hotel in Hyannis on the way to Martha's Vineyard.

Wife saw the tour bus in the parking lot and a guy with a flowered shirt and long hair.

She thought it might be the Beach Boys playing at the Music Circus.

We were having a pizza in the restaurant and this guy walks up to ask how the pizza is. It's Arlo!

Nicest guy. Wound up "partying" with his manager and some crew till the wee hours. Great people!

Cape Cod Melody tent, or the now defunct Cape Cod Coliseum?

Probably the Melody Tent. Not sure, as I've never been to that venue. Wifey knows more than me. She's a huge music person. (Don't get me started on Stevie Nicks!)

Me either. Finally got a chance to listen to the whole song and read the youtube description.

Thanks for sharing it!

Then had to go search for Ray Charles' version too

I know next to nothing about Jason Isbell, or the 400 Unit, or Drive-By Truckers, but I heard one version of this tune this afternoon, definitely caught my ear.  Reminded me of Neil Young, Steve Earle, ....  I could listen to more. :music-guitarred:

RIP Ace Frehley

Not a big KISS fan but they did have an big impact on many future musicians after them.
