A great friend of mine passed away Monday and he will be very dearly missed! He created Junction Vally Railroad in Bridgeport MI. The worlds largest true 1/4 scale railroad. My daughter (Gabby) and I became great friends with the entire Stenger Family. We would spend hours at Junction during the Summer months talking and telling stories, and the entire month of October there for there famous Halloween spook train. Pa (Bill Stenger) was the smartest man I have ever meet, He was a engineer in the Navy and he could not only design something with detailed plans, But he would build it him self! He build his entire railroad himself by hand from tracks, wheels, couplers, cars, to all the engines that can be muled together so the lead engine would control all the engines behind it! He had a machine shop where they would build every thing to build this very large railroad. There's around 4 1/2 miles of track and over 75 cars. 9 engines all braced on Diesels which were Pa's favorite. I spent a lot of time with this great man and will miss his great stories!

Sorry for the loss of a close friend.

Were you one of the passengers for his "Final train ride?"

The man really loved trains and made it possible for many others to enjoy them too.
