6wheeler 586 #1 Posted March 3, 2012 Hi guys. I have a question. I thought I read a posting on here where one or some of the members are into collecting model railroad equipment. The reason I ask is, I have a couple of sets that are old and I wonder if there is any value to them . Outside of the fact, I think they are neat. I was gonna let my grandson have them. But, if they are worth alot I would save them till he is alot older. Or, maybe " I " should quit playing with them. Thanks Pat
AMC RULES 36,945 #2 Posted March 3, 2012 Aren't you still a bit too young to stop playing with toy trains? :teasing-poke:
nylyon-(Admin) 7,121 #3 Posted March 3, 2012 My grandfather was friends with someone at Lionel and every year my dad would get Lionel trains for Christmas. Some of the items were prototypes that never made it into production. I went to a shop who said that they specialized in appraisal and they told me that the fee was that they take their "choice" of the collection as a fee. I couldn't stop laughing as I walked out the door. These things could be worth money, but they were built to be played with.
