Trouty56 565 #1 Posted October 7, 2011 Before anybody says how good this looks, because this photo makes it look nicer than it is, I want to say it really doesn't look that good. I have another old chair to repaint so maybe that one will look better. I tried spraying it about 3 times and then hand painting it 2 times till I got it to look like this. rydogg 186 #7 Posted October 8, 2011 That looks great I have 3 of them old metal chairs that I was thinking of doing the same thing to except I was going to find a big decal since my painting skills are not very great.

Trouty56 565 #9 Posted October 8, 2011 Ryan, I thought about a decal but then worried it might get rubbed loose and start to peel. There is a material called frisket film, I think that is the name, that can be cut and adhered to the surface for stenciling but I opted to try to hand paint. Really not to hard to do. A trick my mother taught me was to paint an object upside down. This way the object is not familiar and you are less critical with the strokes. My mother is an artist in the Delmarva Eastern Shore area.
HorseFixer 2,012 #10 Posted October 8, 2011 Any Butt would be Proud to sit in that chair! I Just thought of an Idea just now, How about having someone sew up one of those Red n White Seat covers for it like they do on the Roundhood Steel Seats? Boy would that look sharp! Just a thought ~Duke
