Metal Chair

Recommended Posts

Before anybody says how good this looks, because this photo makes it look nicer than it is, I want to say it really doesn't look that good. I have another old chair to repaint so maybe that one will look better. I tried spraying it about 3 times and then hand painting it 2 times till I got it to look like this. :thumbs2:

That looks great :thumbs2: I have 3 of them old metal chairs that I was thinking of doing the same thing to except I was going to find a big decal since my painting skills are not very great.

Ryan,

I thought about a decal but then worried it might get rubbed loose and start to peel. There is a material called frisket film, I think that is the name, that can be cut and adhered to the surface for stenciling but I opted to try to hand paint. Really not to hard to do. A trick my mother taught me was to paint an object upside down. This way the object is not familiar and you are less critical with the strokes. :thumbs2:

My mother is an artist in the Delmarva Eastern Shore area.

Any Butt would be Proud to sit in that chair! :thumbs2: I Just thought of an Idea just now, :banghead: How about having someone sew up one of those Red n White Seat covers for it like they do on the Roundhood Steel Seats? :banghead: Boy would that look sharp!

Just a thought ~Duke
