A trip to Wessel's Farm, Hempstead MD (pictures)

Fifeteen members of our local club, the South Jersey Gas Engine Club took a trip to Hempstead MD to see the collection of Herb Wessel, a retired dairy farmer. Herb has been a serious collector since he retired 25 years ago. His barns are filled with antigue milking eqiupment, old churns, hit & miss engines, old tractors, old cars and trucks, etc. You name it, Herb probably collects it. His main focus is on Case. He has tractors of all sizes and years, steam engines, and Case automobiles. I never knew that Case made autos, but Herb has five of them restored that he drives. Here are some pictures showing a small sample of his collection. Keeping with tradition, we found a great place to eat, Greenmount Station in downtown Hempstead.

All I can say is Wow! Thanks Herb for letting us visit your farm.
