AMC RULES 37,196 #26 Posted January 1, 2011 Last one I remember feeling here in the empire state was back in '02/03 IIRC. Shook the whole house for 30 seconds, thankfully nothing was damaged to my knowledge. Reportedly there were some aftershocks recorded but we didn't feel 'em. Since then, I've always have that predicted, overdue east coast mega quake in the back of my mind. Terrible to think of the devastation that would bring here. Duff 206 #29 Posted January 2, 2011 Titanic plates moving, and even a possible shift in the axis of the earth...oh oh...that happened with the earth quake in Haiti. We have seen volcanoes, tidal waves, earth quakes (one was here last year), weird weather, cats & dogs sleeping together, etc. It is not over yet...set up a plan and be prepared. Horse'n Around 22 #30 Posted January 2, 2011 Earthquakes can be pretty scary,I was in California to race the Anaheim Supercross.I was living in Tucson but I was staying at a friends house in Receda when the Northridge earthquake hit in 1994. His house was located 2 blocks from the epicenter. I was standing in the doorway arch for safety and was looking out thru the sliding glass door watching the all water in his swimming pool splashing out from side to side As for my performance at the race... well I found out that I had no business racing SX... ever, however I made it thru the night unscathed ..So in other words I lost badlt but I still won John
4xfourfun 30 #31 Posted January 2, 2011 I've been through Kokomo IN before, drove just north of there to Galveston and bought a truck a few months ago. Two years ago I had a similar experience. Woke up around 3am with the bed shaking, the girlfriend was freaking out. I swore someone had ran a car into the house too. I was pretty out of it, my head wasn't on too straight waking up like that. Turns out it was just a little earthquake. They said there was another small tremor that day but I didn't notice it.
